Gets me where I want to go

I bought this to mark fishing spots near Steinhatchee, Florida. It's easy to mark and name places, but every time I get closer to the marked place, the arrow pointing in the direction I need to go changes completely on me. It still gets me in the space I wanted to be in.

Pros
  • Lanyard

Unupdated GPS72; no marine gps at all.

Don't let the nomenclature fool you. This device is a VERY basic (simplified) GPS device. That's great if that's what you want I think, but the Garmin GPS72 is nowhere near the same tool as the Garmin GPS72. Unfortunately, the software 72 does not provide functionality for forecasting current tides.

Pros
  • LONG BATTERY LIFE - PDA runs for over 18 hours on 2 AA batteries
Cons
  • Fits

Meets my needs, works well with GPS, finder and accessories

Possibility of large display for azimuth and distance for placing race markers. Main reason for purchase. "Set Start Line" is useful when you are some distance from the line so you know the time to reach the line on your current course, but due to the update delay and if you are going fast, you should Better to rely on them in visual places when they are close to the line. "Tack Assist" works really well when you have an extra person watching over it. Maybe sometime in the future the Bluetooth…

Pros
  • SAILASSIST - Includes multiple sailing features such as virtual start line, countdown timer, speed history and tack assist
Cons
  • The list goes on.
