Be Careful Consumers: GPS, Finder and Accessories

I bought a Montana 680t and it wouldn't start so I called Garmin for help they couldn't get it to work so they said it was faulty which i sent it back to amazon for a replacement it took a week and a half to get a replacement and this one did the same as the first one so garmin asked me to send it to them and they sent me another one that works , they told me amazon that they will probably be refurbished and will sell them as new so be careful

. Ease of use of the touchscreen versus buttons like my 62

I bought the Montana 680t because I wanted the ease of use of the touchscreen versus buttons like my 62. I was a little worried by another reviewer that performance wouldn't be as good, but my fears were allayed. This thing fixes faster than any other GPS I've used and I'm talking about a cold start. I like the interface and the ease of entering information like naming waypoints, entering coordinates and searching for waypoints. I haven't had any satellite signal loss issues and the battery…

Oh Garmin. disappoints me again.

Via Garmin. disappointed again. This is the second Garmin product I'm returning in less than a day, the first being the Chronos. However, I like VIRB and VIRB 360 action cameras Off-screen/Screen brightness button is pressed too long, ends up being pressed more than once Requires separate purchase for City Navigator maps Menu layout is counterintuitive Purchased this for hiking and geocaching . It will do both very well (I think) BUT adding another $70 for City Navigator maps is a bit…

Garmin support will find and fix the issue.

Ideal for hiking and even travelling. It has turn-by-turn voice navigation and works just like my Nuvi. The 680T finds satellites much faster than my other Garmin devices and will now accompany me on all my hikes. Just load the routes of your regions and viola, you will see your tracks on the routes. Send these results to Google Earth to see how your hikes look on a satellite map! The camera is ok, but I hardly use it. Addendum about the long-term use of the 680T. After two years, this device…

Great device - read below so you don't freak out if your maps suck

MUST READ - Device works great but in my opinion Garmin sucks at explaining how to use it. I mistakenly thought I would turn it on and start getting great cards right away. Not correct. You need to download Basecamp, go to the map, mark the area you want to detail and then upload it to Garmin. You will only receive high-resolution maps in the areas you have selected. It's all free and included. In retrospect, it is clear that the amount of data would be too large to have high-resolution maps…

Not worth it for the price. 90's Technology in 2019

If I had used this product in the late 90's I would have given it a good rating as it was the only game in town. I actually had a Garmin GPS that I used in the 90's and it was great back then. It's just too old now. I got this unit as I will be doing JMT next month. So I tested it by going to the White Mountains. I had my phone (an iPhone X with AllTrails loaded) and this unit. At first the map was very difficult to read. It is not possible to change the color of your track. It's light green…

Wasted money, worst product I've bought

With smartphones as they are, I figured this thing would be a problem. I haven't heard many good things about them but I gave it a try as I need better mapping for Mexico. Received, charged, and it doesn't even turn on or go to the home screen. Says only Garmin and does nothing else. save your money I have replacements on the way but I don't expect it. The photo shows the maximum of his capabilities. I'm glad I paid for the suitcase and screensaver along with a map of Mexico, I'm leaving on…

Big disappointment!

After an agonizingly long and difficult selection process, I settled on the best Garmin had. Heading for a massive off-road motorcycle adventure for 3 days in the west. When I set it up at home it worked but was very cumbersome and difficult to load tracks through the Garmin Basecamp software. But it still worked and I wanted to use it on my bike. Then, as I drove west (in a car with an autokit), the unit decided I was off the west coast of Africa in the Atlantic (see photo). After several…
