After an agonizingly long and difficult selection process, I settled on the best Garmin had. Heading for a massive off-road motorcycle adventure for 3 days in the west. When I set it up at home it worked but was very cumbersome and difficult to load tracks through the Garmin Basecamp software. But it still worked and I wanted to use it on my bike. Then, as I drove west (in a car with an autokit), the unit decided I was off the west coast of Africa in the Atlantic (see photo). After several attempts to update the software via Garmin Express (not Basecamp), it still didn't navigate properly. The motorbike ride was challenging to say the least, constantly stopping to consult old fashioned paper maps and asking for directions. When I came back from a trip I tried to get the device working with the support team but they didn't help. All they could really tell me was to update the OS via Garmin Express, which I did 3 times. I ended up giving up and returning everything to Revain thinking I would get full credit but they took me away for a restocking fee! What the heck, buy the best of something, don't make it work and send it back at your own expense and a pretty hefty restocking fee. I am very disappointed in Garmin and Revain.
