Garmin has finally switched to glass screens instead of the touchscreens of the old Nuvis, like on cell phones. The thin bezel allows your fingers to touch the glass when holding it, leading to unintended parameter/menu changes. Navigation is what you buy a GPS for, and performance here is inferior to older Nuvis models. It looks like Garmin rushed to launch the product without fixing the bugs. I've been using this GPS for 4 weeks and it has met or exceeded my expectations in almost every area. The touchscreen is large, very responsive, and absolutely gorgeous. Directions are accompanied by voice guidance as well as very helpful lane suggestions. I connected the device to my home WiFi and updated the maps while the GPS was in the car parked in the driveway - no need to take the device out of the car and connect it to the computer to view the maps to update. Just bought to replace an old Garmin. Obviously technology has improved and the Garmin is way better than mine. I've only used it once on a 300 mile round trip - I didn't drive it so I was able to play around with it a bit. What struck me the most is that he has a very steep learning curve.
