Description of 🏃 Garmin Forerunner 55: Your Ultimate GPS Running Watch with Daily Suggested Workouts and Long Battery Life

Easy-to-use running watch monitors heart rate (this is not a medical device) at the wrist and uses GPS to track how far, how fast and where you’ve run. Take the guesswork out of training with suggested workouts of varying intensities based on your training history, fitness level and recovery time. Plan your race day strategy with the PacePro feature (not compatible with on-device courses), which offers GPS-based pace guidance for a selected course or distance. Run your best with helpful training tools, including race time predictions and finish time estimates. Track all the ways you move with built-in activity profiles for running, cycling, track run, virtual run, pool swim, Pilates, HIIT, breathwork and more. Tune in to your body with advanced wellness features, such as intensity minutes, fitness age, all-day respiration and more. Customize your watch with free watch faces, data fields, apps and widgets from the Connect IQ Store (requires Garmin Connect app and Connect IQ app loaded on a compatible smartphone). Battery life: up to 2 weeks in smartwatch mode; up to 20 hours in GPS mode.

Simple as a brick. I hope they are just as strong.

In fact, this is a monitor of the physical state of the body in terms of the main vital functions of the body - mainly the work of the cardiovascular system and the physical activity of the owner of the gadget. For this reason, although they are positioned as a workout controller, they can be a good help for people with health problems such as sleep disturbance, heart function and overweight. Of course, I admit that the readings are not as accurate as those of classical medical equipment…

Pros
  • Control of the biological parameters of the body A handy tool for maintaining bodies in a tolerable state
Cons
  • The price in Russia is charged almost twice as high as the foreign one

Great watch - Sports & Handheld GPS

Great watch for the price. I wish the screen was a little brighter, but overall it's great for beginners. I like the HIIT mode the most and the GPS loads in seconds and tracks well. Very satisfied. This watch has so many features

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

The most comfortable watch strap I have ever used.

I've had the watch for about 2 months now, I wear it every day. In general I am very happy with them. Pros: - Excellent battery life - Very comfortable watch strap - The screen is clearly visible in any light. Cons: - You need to charge the battery with a special charger. While charging the device, I've noticed that when charging via a PC, the battery life isn't up to the standard 1.5 weeks I normally get.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are problems

Very disappointed with battery life

The first few times I charged this watch the battery life was incredible - a couple of weeks. Since then I haven't changed any settings, but the charge has increased from 2 weeks to 30 hours. I've since disabled some features that Garmin says should "maximize" battery life with no improvement. Yesterday I fully charged it, used it for training and overnight the battery went from 90% to 40%. It has dropped from 40% to 30% in the last 4 hours.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models

Poor battery life - working GPS units

I received this watch with high expectations. Like the looks, it's user-friendly and has more than enough features for me EXCEPT that I wish it had a "Strength Training" / "Gym" activity profile. 3 days after receiving my new watch, it was clear that my battery was severely drained, with no activity, just in smartwatch mode. I'll be lucky if I get 2-3 days of battery life. There was a problem with my watch and a software update is pending. After troubleshooting that deleted some files, the…

Great watch for running

I'm so happy I bought this watch! I had a Fitbit Alta HR watch but it randomly died and I had to keep restarting it. I did a lot of research and compared different Garmin watches. I originally came equipped with a Forerunner 45S, but with the release of the new 55, which isn't significantly different in price, I've decided to stick with it. I have very small wrists and this looks good/fits well. (I was worried it would be too much.) All the stats are great and I especially like Garmin Coach…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Hard to say

great running watch!

I have owned the watch for about 2 weeks and have been able to gain a lot of experience so far. The activity data screens provide useful information and switching between screens is very easy. The watch is touchless and you navigate through the screens using the buttons on the side of the watch. I like the size of the face because it makes it easy to see all the information, but it's still a good size so it doesn't feel uncomfortable on the wrist. I only had to change the GPS setting on the…

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Reliable quality watch

I received this watch as an upgrade from an original Vivoactive that had run out of battery. So the battery life was a big plus for me and this watch is a joy to use. The first 2 weeks I ran two 5 mile runs and at the end of those 2 weeks it was still 30%. I also like that it's round and I didn't think I would. I'm used to big watches. It's not small, but it's not as big as I'm used to either. I think the size is almost right. I've only used it for running and cycling so far and it seems…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Only available in black

Love this watch

The only watch I've ever had was the Fitbit Ionic. Well it died a few weeks ago for no apparent reason so I started looking for a replacement. I didn't want to use Fitbit again and figured Garmin would be the next best option. After looking at several models, I settled on the Forerunner 55. It had everything I could ask for in terms of performance. A quality brand with HR, sleep tracking, notifications and like most Garmin products has a solid reputation as a great fitness tracker among other…
