Great watch for running with GPS devices

Great watch at this price. I wish the screen was a little brighter, but overall it's great for beginners. I like the HIIT mode the most and the GPS loads in seconds and tracks well. Very satisfied. This watch has so many functions

Pros
  • Take the guesswork out of your workouts by suggesting workouts at different intensities based on your training history, fitness level and recovery time
Cons
  • No performance

The most comfortable watch strap I have ever used.

I've had my watch for about 2 months and am wearing it them every day. In general I am very happy with them. Pros: - Excellent battery life - Very comfortable watch strap - The screen is clearly visible in any light. Cons: - You need to charge the battery with a special charger. While charging the device, I've noticed that when charging via a PC, the battery life isn't up to the standard 1.5 weeks I normally get.

Pros
  • Track all your movements with built-in activity profiles for running, cycling, track running, virtual running, pool swimming, Pilates, HIIT, breathing exercises, etc.
Cons
  • So far so good

Very disappointed with battery life

First few hours , Battery life was incredible - a couple of weeks. Since then I haven't changed any settings, but the charge has increased from 2 weeks to 30 hours. I've since disabled some features that Garmin says should "maximize" battery life with no improvement. Yesterday I fully charged it, used it for training and overnight the battery went from 90% to 40%. It has dropped from 40% to 30% in the last 4 hours.

Pros
  • Customize your watch with free watch faces, data fields, apps and widgets from the Connect IQ store (requires Garmin Connect app and Connect IQ app downloaded on compatible smartphone)
Cons
  • Almost OK

Poor battery life with running GPS devices

Received this watch with high expectations. Like the looks, it's user-friendly and has more than enough features for me EXCEPT that I wish it had a "Strength Training" / "Gym" activity profile. 3 days after receiving my new watch, it was clear that my battery was severely drained, with no activity, just in smartwatch mode. I'll be lucky if I get 2-3 days of battery life. There was a problem with my watch and a software update is pending. After troubleshooting that deleted some files, the…

Great Running Watch

I'm so happy I bought this watch! I had a Fitbit Alta HR watch but it randomly died and I had to keep restarting it. I did a lot of research and compared different Garmin watches. I originally came equipped with a Forerunner 45S, but with the release of the new 55, which isn't significantly different in price, I've decided to stick with it. I have very small wrists and this looks good/fits well. (I was worried it would be too much.) All the stats are great and I especially like Garmin Coach…

Reliable quality watch

I received this watch as an upgrade from an original Vivoactive that had run out of battery. So the battery life was a big plus for me and this watch is a joy to use. The first 2 weeks I ran two 5 mile runs and at the end of those 2 weeks it was still 30%. I also like that it's round and I didn't think I would. I'm used to big watches. It's not small, but it's not as big as I'm used to either. I think the size is almost right. I've only used it for running and cycling so far and it seems…

Pros
  • Plan your race day strategy with the PacePro feature (not compatible with on-device courses), which provides GPS pace control for your chosen course or distance
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

I love this watch

The only watch I've ever had was the Fitbit Ionic. Well it died a few weeks ago for no apparent reason so I started looking for a replacement. I didn't want to use Fitbit again and figured Garmin would be the next best option. After looking at several models, I settled on the Forerunner 55. It had everything I could ask for in terms of performance. A quality brand with HR, sleep tracking, notifications and like most Garmin products has a solid reputation as a great fitness tracker among other…
