Very simple and intuitive user interface. It works the same way.

Very simple and intuitive user interface. This works exactly as I had hoped. However, there are two points that are sometimes overlooked. First, this device must be connected to a 12-volt power source, such as a car battery or one of those car battery power adapters. So if you want to use it in a kayak, you need to plan for a power source. Second, the screen/keyboard is not waterproof at all. If it may rain or splash, you will need a zippered bag or similar to cover the item.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Will be added later

Best budget fish finder

Arguably the best budget fish finder I've ever used. I use it on a work boat and have no complaints. Very accurate in deep/shallow water as far as I can tell. The amount of detail you can see on a color sonar compared to black and white is AMAZING! The GPS comes in handy for marking hotspots and marking the pier where you entered the water so you don't get lost coming back. CHIRP is also a game changer. Two things you can never be without are CHIRP and color! This is a great budget device. Weโ€ฆ

READ OTHER REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY!

It is not "portable" at all. I bought it for my kayak and stupidly didn't read all the reviews. First, it requires a 12V battery, or you can buy a Nocqua battery pack for an extra $90 with extra wires ($20). The mount has no suction and cannot be installed on a kayak without purchasing additional mounting brackets (from $35). The screen is not waterproof and not suitable for salt water immersion where splashes may occur. It may be ideal for pond fishing, but no more. All in all, you will spendโ€ฆ

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Perfect for a kayak

Connected with the Nocqua Pro Power Kit and installed on my 12ft Jackson Cuda. This is my first sonar so I don't have a lot to compare it to but so far I like it. It's easy to see and easy to navigate. The fact that a $100 fish finder has temp, speed, depth and GPS is incredible. It's perfect for a kayak. The only thing I complain about is that my device doesn't perform well in shallow water with soft bottom or mossy conditions. At depths less than 6-7 feet, particularly in muddy conditionsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

First sonar so I'm not Bill Dance. No comparison with other models. I installed it on my trolling motor. instead of drilling it into the hull of my boat. Much lighter, works well. Knowing the depth is very useful not only for fishing but also for navigating. I only use it at revs just above idle. It turns off when you try to drive fast. Displays "fish arches" and bait drops, not to mention the shape and contour of the bottom. I can see the screen well in bright sunlight wearing sunglasses. Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Useless features

Works reasonably well with major limitations but

This GPS fish finder works fairly well, very sensitive to tenths of a foot depth readings and GPS calculated speed and fish identification seems good too. Weaknesses are design details that indicate a limited expected lifespan compared to my last unit which had very tightly screwed connectors where they were simple, pluggable, very small and soft and not very tight when plugged in. It's also a little finicky, has a slight chamfer to indicate how to insert two plugs and the pins are very smallโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Great Price

Great device, I recommend!

This is an excellent fish finder and GPS system that I would highly recommend to travelers. I recently used it for the first time on a 10 mile canoe trip and am very happy with its performance. I was able to plot my course on a paper map to get the coordinates for each leg, and then add all the waypoint coordinates to the device the night before creating the route. The next day on the water, a GPS device recorded where I was, how long it would take to get to the next waypoint, and how long itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automatic steering
