Big disappointment. Don't buy this if you're not around.

Garmin appears to turn off the wireless signal between the collar and the GPS tracker when outside the US. So the device is not working properly and is not providing any tracking information from the collars. They don't tell you the radio is only enabled in the US, but they have no problem selling and shipping this unit overseas. Big disappointment. Do not buy this if you are not in the US.

Pros
  • battery life 20-40 hours. Water resistance: 1 atm (10 meters); Collar Compatibility: 1 inch (2.54 cm)
Cons
  • The list will be long.

When they work, they work great, but.

Professional dog walker, every day I take 6-12 dogs to the woods and let them walk off leash for hours. I have 6 of these collars (some T5, some TT15). I put collars on dogs that hunt deer so if we startle the deer and it starts chasing, I can follow and eventually catch the pack. With the long antennas on the collars and the Alpha tracker, I can locate dogs up to 1/2 mile away in hilly, densely wooded areas. Shoot further than that crap for consistent tracking, but as long as I keep moving…

Pros
  • High sensitivity GPS with GLONASS; Range: 9 miles
Cons
  • Zero

Today the Garmin Dog GPS has paid for itself many times more than the

Our 14 year old Great Pyrenees hind legs have been getting weaker lately We live in rural Iowa where there are many stormwater drainage ditches snaking through the ground and I was concerned Our dog Jasmine climbed into one for a while and came not out anymore, today it happened - she has often briefly left the entrance of our suburban triplex, but after a few hours I start to worry a bit her hind legs are buckled somewhere and she can't get up to look Today she was gone long enough to get me…
