Easy installation.

Put it in reverse, wait a few seconds, this camera will automatically capture your screen. Turn on parking mode and the screen will unlock, bringing it back to the map. This connects via Wi-Fi, once properly connected you don't have to touch anything, it's pretty cool.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Reliable

camera "meh " good for car rear view cameras

Power cord slightly less than amateur quality. It's a very thin sensor. The mount is suitable but not as versatile as it might seem at first glance. I thought it was worth the risk as I have other Garmin products that have worked well in the past. However, I do not recommend it and will not buy it again.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Decent, expensive but not great camera

Daily work is acceptable but not great. However, it's the only game in town for some Garmin GPS devices, so there's not much to choose from. Night vision is almost non-existent. Even with high-brightness LED rear lights, the camera only draws a black image.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Mediocre

Metal and glass between transmitter and Garmin RV 785 no problem.

Addendum with questions and issues installing BC35 on my 2008 F250 long bed truck. I installed the transmitter under the bed and attached it to the front of the hitch receiver. Video from the rear camera is transmitted without any problems given the metal platform and cab. as well as lower components such as axle, suspension, spare wheel etc. I hope this will answer future customers' questions on the subject, however an extension cord should be available.

  • New
Cons
  • Don't remember

Frustrating with car backup cameras

I paired this with a Garmin RV 890 and expected it to be as good as the backup camera I used with another Garmin a few years ago. The picture is normal, but the camera turns on 20-330 seconds after reverse gear is engaged. This time is enough to be on standby and on the move. The picture should be great considering the 8 inch Scream and I can clearly see if I'm waiting and waiting. The camera often freezes and shuts down during the backup process. This is a security risk and a waste of money…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Doesn't work with my 28ft trailer

I know the transmission limit is 45ft but I was hoping it would work. No way. It works great in my metal van body, but as soon as you drive it it loses signal and says no camera is connected, or outputs a long refresh rate, neither of which is satisfactory. I've spent over $650 on a BC 35 and RV 785 camera, which I know are the only camera and Nuvi combo that "works" and they won't work together when they're on attached to a caravan. What was Garmin thinking? That nobody ordering a navigator…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old
