Hose for LS Swap: Hoses

Use this hose for my LS Swap in my 84 Firebird. Reviews online say it's great for a replacement, I had to trim it pretty well.

Pros
  • Radiator
Cons
  • Without Machine

"Fit to size " - anything but the right fit

Doesn't quite fit! Useless. To be honest, I missed the expression "fitting to size" in the description. They don't even remotely look alike. I didn't try it until 2 months later, a month after the return window closed. Beware of this thing!

Pros
  • Hoses
Cons
  • Little things

Poor Fit Gates 20893 for 1995 Fleetwood Brougham

I installed this and found it short and long on my car. I could have used it but was afraid it wouldn't wear well as it was so tight. Planned to return it but missed the 30 day window. Ordered a Dayco 71703 which fits a lot better - it handles any torque induced engine movement at the engine mounts.

Pros
  • Replacement Parts
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Gates hose does not fit

Let me start by saying that I have been a loyal Gates customer since the 1970's due to the quality of their products. But not in this case. I ordered a Gates lower radiator hose for my 96 Fleetwood and it ended up being 3 inches shorter. I ended up having to reuse the old hose, which fit well. Thought the Gates hose was cut and sent back. Ordered a replacement and it was exactly the same. I bought a Dayco tube and it was perfect. Look at this picture. I can imagine how it happened.
