Does NOT fit my BMW Z3 despite claims to the contrary

Appears to be of good quality and made by a manufacturer known for their high quality. However, with all my wishes, it does not fit my 2002 BMW Z3. Looks like I'll have to pay the cost for a 100% OEM replacement.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Some imperfections

My problem with the check engine light

Works. Bought for a 1999 Mercedes CLK. The check engine light came on. The authorized Mercedes repairer ran the codes multiple times and couldn't figure out the problem. The next step was expensive diagnostics. I asked about the gas cap (it's as old as the car) and they said that's probably not the problem. Finally ordered a new cap. I exchanged the old one, traveled a bit, the check went out and stopped shining. The old lid was no longer closed. This Gates cap looks slightly different than the

Form, fit and function are fine

Replacing a significantly worn OEM fuel cap that was sometimes causing the check engine light (OBD-ii code P0455) to illuminate.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

Good replacement gas cap

My old gas cap was getting harder and harder to put on and take off. I wasn't sure about this cap because it's not OEM. But it fits perfectly and should be fine because I don't have the check engine lights I used to have. For <$10 this is a great deal. My car is almost 20 years old, so why spend money on an original cover?

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Update available

Doesn't even come close to fitting a 2000 Mercedes Benz E320

I bought this gas cap for my 2000 Mercedes Benz E320. One review claimed it was an OEM part for the E320. Not only did this cover not fit my car at all, it also arrived a day late. Since there was no part number on the lid itself, I couldn't match it to the box. Definitely NOT OEM! Look at the photo and judge for yourself.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Only available in black

Cheap unnecessary pain that can be put on and taken off very tightly.

I have a 1998 Mercedes e320 and this product is made entirely of hard hard plastic, no metal at all, no Mercedes logo, cheaply made, contrary to the images shown, no metal at all, no Mercedes logo, and VERY hard to get up and off! Not recommended and not at all like OEM Mercedes gas caps or how they advertise them. I'm only keeping it because I've been returning to too much Revain junk lately and it was only $12 and I'm still selling the car or I'd return it, I don't recommend it at all.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine
