Perfect Fit: Belt

Installed on a 2005 Ford Explorer V8. Beginning and end lasted less than 8 minutes. Gates makes a great product, very happy with the fit.

Great belt! in belt

Excellent belt, no problems. Low quality belt name is $35. I have used Gates belts and hoses for many years and this is my goto brand. You will not be disappointed with this belt!

Belt failed catastrophically within 10 miles - defective material

Belt snapped within 10 miles of installation. The belt has completely come off and all the knurled pulleys are completely dirty. The mechanic had to use a lockpick and clean the brakes. It took more than an hour to clean all the grooved pulleys. The belt broke while driving on the freeway.

I took the chance to buy this online and I'm glad I did - it came with an alternator and is better than the original Ford belt. Gates is little more than the replacement belts you get from online auto parts stores (and in-store), but the quality and noticeable durability make it worth the money. This belt was perfect for a 2004 Ford Expedition with a 5.4 liter V8 engine. It's also completely devoid of any noticeable noise at all. We strongly recommend getting a Gates belt instead of cheaper…
