🔧 Gates Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump - TCKWP277A Review

This is the second timing kit I have bought from Gates for Subaru EJ25 engines and have been very satisfied both times. These are OE quality products, not cheaper imitations. Changing the timing belt is not cheap, the consequences are expensive. I trust this kit in a family member's car along with a Subaru that I use daily.

breathed new life into an old car. Works great in a dated 1999 Subaru Outback. I would have saved at least $1000 if I bought it direct from the store. For $200 this deal can't be beat. I paid $280 and it was a good price. Don't forget, but there's no reason not to buy a thermostat for your water pump when you go that far

I bought this for my 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback 2.5L but the tensioner that came with it (as shown in the picture) is not the right one. Apparently Subaru changed that part mid-year. I had to pay another $150 for the correct belt tensioner (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CRHN2Y/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and timing belt adjuster (http://www.amazon.com/ gp/product/B004VKM9ZO/ref=oh_details_o02_s02_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to complete the job.

All of the casters in this kit are fitted full width with high quality NSK bearings to withstand the heaviest loads. Some kits only have half-width bearings on some pulleys, which are minimally loaded along the belt path. Good quality hydraulic tensioner, water pump and belt. Everything fits perfectly. This Gates timing belt kit was a great alternative to dealer parts. This kit was installed on a 1998 Subaru Forester L with a 2.5L DOHC Phase 1 engine. All parts fit like original without any problems. The markings on the timing belt itself were very clear and easy to find. All bearings are individually wrapped to protect them from dust and dirt.
