These small sanders are great for sanding small areas where detail and control is required. I use them in the finish sanding of cabinet doors that I do to remove swirl marks from mechanical sanding. Heavy sanding will always leave some curls that show up through the coloring, and to get a really nice swirl-free finish you really need to finish the sanding by hand. These are by far the best precision grinders I've ever used.

Wow, this thing works great! It is very comfortable to use and is excellent for detail sanding and sanding in hard-to-reach places and corners. I wish I had bought this sooner as it works better than sanding sponges or regular sandpaper wrapped around a piece of wood. It easily costs $10 and has made my woodworking projects a lot easier to get done. I haven't gotten anything from Gator that isn't outstanding.

I first found these grinders about 10 years ago while cleaning and finishing cypress crusts at our house. I've been using them ever since and swear by them. They're soft enough to be comfortable but firm enough to skim with gritty material. And even though the pads are so small, they last a long time.
