Great as a heavy stand for a mirrorless camera!

Very heavy base, seems accurate and strong! I had a unique application, I wanted to use my Panasonic GH-4 and accessories as a 4k webcam, but I had very little space behind a large 43" Philips monitor. There's a window right behind it, or I could put up a shelf, no tripod will work. This mic stand along with a cheap 5/8" ball head adapter did the trick! The ONLY caveat is that it seems impossible to really tighten and lock the height adjuster. Nothing slips, but it feels like it can!

Ideal for high singers!

I'm 6ft 2in tall so I needed a mic stand that was a little larger than standard. This mic stand allows for a lot of adjustments, the base is wider than cheaper stands and has enough weight to FEEL the quality. I use it almost every day with my group and my only concern is that if you put heavy weight on it it will wear off a bit. This is more of a personal issue of mine to fix and not so much a stand issue. Definitely invest. DO NOT buy a $20 mic stand, you will regret it.

Support iPad for distance learning. The heavy-duty clamp attached to the top adjustable section works well and the one-handed adjustment makes height adjustment trivial yet reliable. Heavy wide base with a nice flat top. I don't know if that's fully "professional" level in the sense that you'd give it to the Rolling Stones or a lively karaoke bar, but it's better than the low consumer level. You can buy a lot of these units for 1/2 or 2/3 the price but they tend to have crappy bases and I would

Poor quality. Sample made in China. First noticed when you adjust the height - if you put some weight on it (e.g. when I'm singing I tend to lean a little on the boom) it slides back without much effort. The clutch doesn't hold at all. Then - that pistol grip that you squeeze to raise or lower it - it's plastic and has cracks, making it wobbly and unusable. Typical. Send it to China and it becomes garbage. Stay away from this china stuff. Gator, you disappoint me. China sucks. So Gator replaced

Stable base for customized iPad Pro stand.

Used as a pole base with a 12.9" iPad Pro mount on the end. The combination positions the iPad perfectly and fairly firmly for use on the treadmill. I added a 3lb counterweight (cheaper on eBay) for the telescoping boom and quick release ball head to attach the iPad mount. Total price was about $130 which gave me a solid stand for an expensive piece of electronic equipment that is easy to assemble/disassemble/adjust when I use the treadmill and want something to take my mind off the dead (for…

Nice mic stand for mics and accessories

Admittedly I haven't had it very long but I won't be tuning it much (if at all, really) as it's set up to hold the reflective shield. It will most likely stay where it is for a very, very long time. For a microphone, this is a pretty good stand. Don't expect it to work for a large LDC (6-10 lbs/3-5 kg) as it's not quite up to the task, but for a small mic it's pretty good. As mentioned, I attached a reflective shield to it, which is fine as long as you don't actually extend the handle section…
