Do not buy - Lamp holders

This item is poorly made. After I finally pulled the chain, the light wouldn't come on. Also, you have to pull the chain up to turn on the light, not down. Even after I discovered this, the light still wouldn't come on. I would return this product but I am afraid of being exposed to the coronavirus if I go to a UPS store.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Frequency

It just seems to do what I wanted it to do. i am specific

Exactly what I wanted. I specifically took the one with the pull chain, thinking it would turn off everything that was plugged in - it doesn't, it only affects the bulb. I used it for Christmas lights and wanted to be able to turn them off without having to unplug them, but that just didn't work for me.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Weight

Works great!

I unplugged the original pull chain with the power on, so instead of turning it off with the switch and replacing the entire socket/bracket, I bought it to screw into the socket, added a new bulb, longer chain and voila! Actually works perfectly! I have this in my closet so a chain is needed as there is no light switch. I love it when everything works the way it's supposed to!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Some bugs

Nice, simple solution

They feel very durable in your hand, which is a pleasant surprise. They screw in easily and have sockets that work independently of the light switch. The switch also feels solid, which is what you'd expect from a moving part. A bit pricey but worth it. A great solution for your garage, basement, shop, etc. You save the cost of calling an electrician. The only wish is that they are white, not yellowish. White looks much cleaner.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Lots of things

Good socket adapter.

I bought this to plug my Revain Cloud Cam into an outlet and it works great. You'll use the circuit to turn the lights on and off, but the outlets will stay on until you flick a wall switch or something. Works very well at the moment, although some people have reported issues with the chain not working right away after some use. It's not a problem for me as I don't turn the lights off that often, but I'll update this later if I ever run into any problems. But for now I recommend it.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

This is a cheaper (not as durable) version of what they used to sell (GE).

More fragile than the originals years ago as it's now made in China (like everything else). This is not necessary, you risk damaging the adapter, also keep the adapter by the base when you connect something, otherwise you can do the same. made my own extension for this) but I'm also 6ft 6in so that was never a problem. Note that you are drawing a lot of amps/watts from a dual output adapter or you may run into problems.

  • Great price

Also hold on to the base of the adapter when connecting something else. You could do the same. It would have been nice to have a longer pull chain or at least a rope (I made my own extension for this) but I'm also 6ft 6" so that was never a problem. Be careful how many amps/watts you are drawing from the dual outlet adapter or you may run into…

It simply works: Light sockets

There isn't much to say about the retractable socket adapter other than whether it works properly or not. So far it does what it should. I needed a socket adapter switch so I could plug in a couple of decorations that were on a separate switch from the rest of the decorations but without the lights being on all the time so this was my solution to the problem at hand. Of course, the pull chain only turns off the bulb, which is what I wanted as the light has a wall switch that I can use to turn…

A piece of junk! on Light Sockets

CHARACTER! (GE 54180/GE Female Adapter: Traction Chain Control). The reason I say this is because the DRIVE CHAIN portion of this unit is DEFECTIVE. It works fine for a while, but after a while the circuit stops turning on and off the lightbulb screwed into the socket. The reason I say this is because I've bought this product not just once, but twice. Bought September 1st, 2018 and has worked flawlessly for a year. Then the chain stopped working. So I thought I just got a bad one and ordered a…
