💡 GE Soft White Incandescent Mogul Base Bulbs - 3 Way, 100/200/300 Watt PS25 - 2 Pack Review

Haven't had to use yet (ordered a second time, no problems with the first two ordered a while ago) but would like to note the packaging was incredibly good (always "a little" concerned when ordering fragile items like lightbulbs).

I usually go to the hardware store to buy these lamps but they were out of stock. So I ordered them online. But to my surprise, the first one I used only lasted 30 days. Not for very long so I wasn't happy BUT I replaced it with another one I ordered online and marked the date on my calendar and I'll see how long this one lasts.

Both bulbs arrived intact but one bulb didn't work at all and the other didn't work as a 3 way bulb. They were wrapped and boxed in bubble wrap. I know these creatures are fragile and temperamental. I've had problems with moguls when buying them from local lighting or hardware stores. I sent both back with no problems and bought replacements locally.

If you like very bright light and are not looking for a three-way bulb, this lamp might be for you. The lamp has only one mode, not three. *Maybe* there is a slight difference between the second and third click, but I'm not sure. After trying the GE bulb I bought a Satco branded version of this bulb which has three lighting modes which I always get from the other bulbs in my lamp. GE are back.

My mother has an old Torchere lamp that she inherited from her mother. They require a special sized bulb and are not easy to find, especially the three-way bulb. I have ordered two packs from this seller twice and both times I have received lamps that only work on one or two settings. I could return them but I am disabled and some things just aren't worth the time and effort. So if you need a 1 or 2 way light bulb without knowing which brightness setting works, then go for it.

My husband is telling me to go ahead and NOT return them just because one light level achieved seems to be 300 watts. Was the lamp bought to replace one that had two wattage settings, maybe 100w and 200w? but suddenly stopped working on anything other than 100w which is too dim to read. Since the one I replaced was a GE I stuck with it instead of the Sylvania when I read the reviews that YOUR bulbs had a similar "fault". Too bad that both bulbs are defective.

I have a wonderful 1930's floor lamp that needs a hump base. I was excited to find this. The lamp was on a timer, so every day for several hours. The lamp should have 3 light levels. Only one level was ever used. The light didn't come on today. The light bulb burned out - all three levels. I have never had a bulb for this bulb last less than 2 years and never had a bulb burn out on all levels at once. Judging by the reviews, this is a common problem that I will not buy again.
