    Backlighting is a great alternative to regular vanity lighting

    Backlighting is a great alternative to regular vanity lighting. We love the daylight lamp; This is especially important when applying makeup. The only problem is that the bulbs take almost a full minute to "warm up" and reach their full light potential. We use 6 as the main light in our main bathroom, so it can be a little frustrating when you're just going to the bathroom quickly. We may need to install additional lighting if we continue to use these bulbs.

    Lightbulbs hum, dim and don't glow Color (soft white)

    Lightbulbs hum, very dim (especially compared to their incandescent counterparts) and color mismatch. The claimed soft white rating is incorrect, the bulbs hum when turned on. Also, there is a wait of up to 3 seconds before they even light up from the moment the switch is pressed, and another 2-3 seconds before they reach anything close to their "peak brightness" (which is very dim ). Do not do that. Buy them if you have bought high quality CFLs in the past. Those lightbulbs are terrible…

    Too loud for my taste. The delay can be eliminated by using a single conventional light bulb.

    I read the reviews before buying this product and I expected some questions. However, the buzz they make is a lot louder than I expected and the latency is a lot longer than I expected. To fix the lag I have a regular light bulb with two eco bulbs. However, it still makes noise, so I don't know how long I can tolerate it and if I'll get used to it.     Lightbulbs aren't all the same

    When I took the packaging out of the box (well packaged) I got a bit concerned when I saw the orange packaging (9 year life - yes that's right) compared to the old one blue ones (6 year nominal life) that I bought a few years ago.     Quiet, lights up quickly, works great!

    I bought three packs of 3 of these lamps because I really wanted some "daylight" lighting for my master bathroom. I work near a lot of windows and it's sometimes shocking how different my makeup looks in different places. Yes, I bought them for my dressing table. For my vanity!     I recently bought four of these lightbulbs for my bathroom to replace some others that were starting to burn out. The good news is that these 11-watt bulbs are as bright or even brighter than the 14-watt bulbs (from another manufacturer) they replaced. The other good news is that there was a small delay in reaching full brightness; Flick the switch and the lights in the room come on, reaching full brightness in five to ten seconds.     Very good but not perfect - slow light

    Update Now that I've been using these lamps for over a month I finally used a stopwatch to see how long it takes them to get bright. You are in the bathroom and you get enough dim light to see when you flip the switch (dim = maybe 15%-20% of full power). It takes a whopping 50-60 seconds to reach the 50% level. 80%+ takes a full 2 minutes.
