GE WR50X10069 Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat Review

Do not waste your money on this product. It is poorly made and does not work properly. It barely lasted a month before needing to be replaced. The only positive aspect is that it was easy to install, but that hardly matters if it doesn't function correctly. Overall, a disappointment and a waste of time and money. Look to other tools and home improvement options for a better defrost thermostat.

I have a GE side-by-side refrigerator that has started to cool poorly. The freezer stays in defrost mode for a long time and nothing in the freezer stays cold for a long time, but the refrigerator stays cold very well. Replaced everything else (board, temp sensors, fans etc) so I had one last thing to try and what do you know! Fixed, has been working for more than a month!

My freezer was having trouble defrosting. You will see ice build up on the back of the freezer. After watching a number of YouTube videos to identify the problem I bought this and a heater/lamp to fix the problem. This is very easy to do if you feel comfortable enough.
