Best Value Sockets and Socket Sets

guides are very good. The lettering on the side is excellent. I'll buy more of these when I go. Sockets are great and overused.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Quality issue - socket sets

The price was good but there is no marking at all on the 20mm head, only the knurled grip part on the underside of the head looks like a problem which very quickly has to be caught makes me doubt the quality of the product.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Not the best

Still on the hunt for metric

Allen key very well finished and marked. They come in a modern plastic guide with a metal bracket. The product is made in Taiwan by Apex Tool Group, who also make Craftsman, and comes with the same lifetime warranty.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Hard to say

Finally found an alternative to the tool trolley!

The only tool-less cart alternative I've found if you're looking for 1/2" chrome flat hex nuts! For some reason everyone else does 12-page ones like this. . Oddly enough, a good splint came with it, which is actually usable.

Pros
  • Enjoy
Cons
  • Doubtful

18mm socket broke on first use

When I first used a socket from this set my 18mm socket broke on the side. It's hard to tell if these sockets are junk, but definitely didn't like it at all. I sincerely hope it's just an accidental glitch in just that one outlet. Revain was of course great as always and immediately sent me a new set.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Fair

Disappointing and bad QC.

Supplied with two sockets 23 mm and without 24 mm. And there's no way to snap them onto the included stand with dimensions pointing directly at the user, they all point in random directions, most of which can't be secured with a 90 degree twist, which is all due to the square drive . . Nothing to be proud of. I am sending these back.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Out of fashion

You must also have these 6 points!

Face it, when you get to the 1/2" drive size you have a real torque problem and 6 point torque is the only way out. And because of the high torque (120ft/lb+) I can attest that the beveled Gearwrench heads, which press the pads, not the corners, really work! The 3/8" cobalt 17mm 12pt washer wouldn't move, only made it worse. Used my gearwrench 6pt and wham!, each individual socket wrench holder has a spring loaded ball bearing.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Upgrade available

3 sockets were covered with rust inside

For the extra money buying these sockets I didn't expect to see rust on 3 sockets as soon as they arrived. The rest of the chrome in the bezels looks very thin and matte. Soon they can start to rust. They aren't that different from my 15-piece metric 12-point Stanley sockets, which I paid $17.84 for. Stanley has the same features as Gearwrench. It's too hassle to return so I keep it to myself but I buy a lot of gearwrench tools and it's very disappointing to say the least. Update: I finally…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Some issues
