Wrench overloaded

Bought to work on a Miata. After the second use, the 14mm flex head just flipped over. Of course it didn't last. I made sure the torx screw was tightened (it was). I took it apart to see if I can fix it. I could not. Tried to contact seller. Vain. So I drove to the port and bought a 14mm swivel head wrench. It works great and is still working over a year later. I noticed in the comments that the 14mm had problems. Plus a few others. I won't be buying more wrenches. I will go to HB and buy a…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Slightly torn

The quality of the tools is very poor. I don't know if this kit is fake but I've uploaded some photos to compare the difference in quality with another old version of the flex head. When I decided to buy this set instead of another well known brand because I wanted a quality tool. This set looks Chinese. I paid too much for a cheap product. I contacted the manufacturer of the gear wrenches. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this. In the meantime I will request a refund. Amazon has cheaper…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Flexible keys are a flop.

Wrenches turn as they should, with one caveat: the flexible heads on some of them are very loose, they swing with no more conviction than simple gravity. It tends to age very quickly, if you set the head to the angle you want, straighten the wrench, then it flips over and you can't set it to the closure you want. I've tried tightening them with several allen wrenches but to no avail. This is something that quality control should capture, or the design should allow the flex head to be tightened.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor pursuits
Cons
  • Expensive

Best complete kit for the layman

This is now my go-to tool for nuts and bolts. It's easier to grab one of these than a socket and socket wrench. The only time I wouldn't use them is if I *only* had vertical access. The ratchet works great on the ones I've applied torque to. I like that the rigidity of the flexible heads is adjustable. They came pretty stiff and I didn't adjust them at all. The Craftsman set I had [before they grew legs] was loose and occasionally fell off target during the ratchet. Just not these. The only…

Poor workmanship, missing keys

Failed to load media. I bought these "used" from Revain myself. So I expected them to have a few scratches. When I opened the box I noticed the 17mm was upside down and the 8,9,11mm was missing. So I tried to leave a review but Amazon declined it. This time I will be kinder in my review. When I wanted to see what options I had for returning an item, Revain had the option of contacting GearWrench and calling Gear Wrench's phone number. This annoyed me a bit because I was under the impression I…

Nice set, very thick and durable

I have owned several GearWrench tools in the past and have found that they have always been a reliable and quality brand that has never broken on me. I am pleased to announce that this set continues that beautiful tradition. I've used them for a wrench on several engines since I bought them and they never stuck when a good amount of torque was applied to them (unlike the Craftsman and Kobalt versions I've had). Wrenches are heavy and will not bend under load. The tools are clearly marked with…

Pros
  • All our products are specially designed for professionals
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Large size came in handy within a week of buying this set. I first bought the GearWrench 9900 7 piece set. ($35 at Menards) Then I bought this set. ($59) This was a pretty good set for me, but I needed the 16mm and 18mm, which were blanks. I bought them from Revain for $25 each. So I invested about $145 in the set and filled out most of the stops in this organizer. The rest of the gaps are 23mm (this set skips 23mm), then 20mm, and finally 11mm. I absolutely cannot find where GearWrench makes…

Pros
  • Sturdy, designed and used by experts
