Works like a charm, good for couplers and parts

My only issue with the kit is the pulley 'snag', it takes a little patience. The real clutch key works great. I think 4 cm longer would be better. But the kit worked as intended. I see that the pulley holder (hook) broke at some point, but the clutch wrench is the most important tool.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Compatibility

Ah, it's all right. in complete clutch kits

Gearwrench normally offer the highest quality products but this is not one of their key selling points. The water pump pulley holder was very useful, but the wrench was poor quality at best. It kept slipping off the giant nut that connects the water pump to the fan clutch. To avoid further stripping or damaging the nut I used a large pipe wrench and it broke IMMEDIATELY. It's a decent product, it just didn't work.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other kits

Parts worked best

Two tools come in a nice sturdy box. The key really helped a lot. A hook tool I couldn't get working in my favor so I just used a 12" socket extension, inserted it into the pulley hole and fitted a breaker over it. That helped. Although without the wrench it would hurt in the ass. I connected a 1/2" socket to the end of the wrench intended for the extra lever. It worked fine.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Minor issues

For 6.0L Pwrstroke but will also fit my 2007 5.4L 3V engine

Clutch will not fit. After converting my 1,850" to metric, I realized I needed a 47mm wrench. This 47mm wrench is for the Ford 6.0L Powerstroke engine and also fits my 2007 Ford F-150 with 5.4 liter 3 valve engine, I think this is an anomaly, so if you don't have a powerstroke engine, you can pre-measure the key size you actually need before ordering.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Key fits 7.3L not just 6.0L

Well I am giving 5 stars because it is exactly what was described. This is a bit frustrating because I've read everywhere that it also works with 7.3L. Which is only half true. The wrench fits perfectly, but the wrench doesn't quite fit. I attached the ratchet strap and wrapped it around the pulley and attached it on the other side. Then I used a wrench and hit it with a hammer. I used a ratchet at this point on the wrench so I could hold it while I delivered the killing blow. In a nutshell…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Huge time saver, best performance in drivetrain and transmission

I needed to replace the fan clutch on my Ford 6.0 PowerStroke 04 engine - I'm glad I bought this kit. I had to unscrew the upper radiator brackets, tilt them forward, remove the fan shroud, and then loosen the four screws holding the internal plastic fan air deflector that sits between the fan and motor. Once you lean forward you should be able to get the thin part of the wrench around the fan clutch hex shaft. The wrench has a 1/2" square hole in the end of the handle and I inserted a 1/2" pry

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Great Price
