They shine bright for about 2-3 hours and then start to dim, don't expect full brightness for 12 hours. A nice addition: a whistle and a rescue blanket, good additional parts for a car emergency bag.

Great for camping. Since each one comes with a lanyard, it's very easy to tie and have the kids hanging around their necks. Or hang it in your tent. It's not the brightest or the most durable, but for everyday camping use it's perfect.

The orange survival whistle is the same one I had in the 80's, I see it as a bonus along with the emergency blanket, I just added some matches and put it in my backpack. This is a nice little emergency light kit for home and travel use. Glow sticks are relatively bright and perfect for darkening the house. I left a few in the car in case there were any emergencies that required me to pull over. They definitely stay bright for the first 5-6 hours, but I have a feeling they'll definitely start to lose their brightness after that. This kit also includes a whistle, compass and rescue blanket.
