Description of Efficient Clearing with General Pipe Cleaners 1-1/2CG ClogChopper - 1-1/2 Inch Part Number

Maneuverable. The perfectly balanced ClogChopper automatically negotiates multiple, tricky bends – maintaining a central line position and minimizing pipe wall, elbow, connection and joint damage. Efficient. With “all surface” cutting edges, ClogChopper clears clogs and scrapes encrusted debris from inner walls – all in one operation, into and out. The six inverted cutting edges run smoothly, without rattling or jumping. Economical. Durable enough to handle years of demanding use in residential and commercial applications, ClogChopper actually self-sharpens while working. Versatile. General offers ClogChopper connectors for most popular brands of drain cleaning machines. For pipe sizes 1-1/2 in. to 3 in. and for cable sizes 3/8 in. 1/2 in. and 9/16 in.

Works beautifully in pipes, tubes and hoses

Works well, cuts through most clogs with ease, just wish it was a little bigger. The largest size is 11/2", which gets the job done, but 21/2 might offer the best cleaning.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Not suitable for hydraulics, pneumatics and plumbing

I was a bit disappointed with this product. It is advertised and labeled as 1 1/2". I measured it with a micrometer and it is only 3/4" in diameter, not 1 1/2" as advertised. If you have a 3/4 -Sell inch items, it should be marked 3/4 inch and not 1 1/2 inch.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Hard to say

Cleans better than the Roto Corner!

Paid 325.00 for a Roto Rotoer, came and cleaned the tube but the bit used didn't clean it well. I used this one and it easily went into the 3 inch pipe and cleaned out the roots that were growing in the cast iron pipe. Now I can use the toilet in the main bathroom again!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Will be added later

Scrap for pipes

The tool is expensive and simply scrap. I made a purchase and waited about 4 months before having to use it for the first time. My drain was clogged with toilet paper and the toilet paper just wrapped around the knife without opening the drain. I replaced the cutter with the spring tool that came with my snake machine and immediately opened the drain. Totally disappointed in my 1-1/2" clog chopper. Be careful before buying.

Great tailor! for pipes

Goes through almost anything it encounters. Its self-sharpening design is efficient. It worked where the auger failed. Definitely worth the price. I used a little blue threadlock on the screw to keep it in place because you don't want to lose it in the pipe. I read on one of the forums that you can put it in the lock and get stuck if you're not careful. I haven't had this problem but just to make sure I drill a few inches and then pull it out before going back in. It's probably better than…

Easy Eat Pipes

As a DIY enthusiast, I clean my basement drain line at least twice a year. My BrassCraft machine auger has 4 blades, but none of them completely clean the grease that has accumulated over many years. The 1-1/2" ClogChopper All-Purpose Pipe Cleaners are heavy and the side and front edges are serrated. Flavorful. The rounded shape makes it easy to get around corners, unlike other cutters you have to press hard in places. This clogchopper can move forward smoothly.About two weeks ago I bled the…

Closer to 1 1/4 " diameter; didn't complete the task I bought it for.

This is an unspecified 1 1/2" diameter; rather it's closer to a 1 1/4" diameter. I suspect it's smaller for getting around corners etc. I needed something exactly 1 1/2" diameter to clean the drain pipe, so could this thing didn't do the job I bought it for; and was therefore a waste of money. In the end, believe it or not, I used a 1 1/2" hole saw on an extension to clean out the pipe and it worked pretty well. To me, this shop was a waste of money. However, I have it still keeping it because…
