Too many Velcro on the fingertips

Too many velcro straps for the disabled. I would return it, but it took a long time between my purchase and my therapist's evaluation

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Works on extending the arm after a stroke.

Helps very well to stretch the arm after a stroke. The velcro keeps falling off but we riveted each toe which made it perfect. There were no types of glue that worked on this product.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Folding package

Very difficult to put on

The finger splint was difficult to put on the fingers. Separate finger hook and loop fasteners must be permanently attached to the blue plastic base of the finger/hand. The patient or caregiver cannot be attached to the arm. I used them twice and then threw them away.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • No

Separates fingers well but hot to wear

Bought this for my son who had a stroke and was paralyzed in his right hand and arm. It helps spread your fingers and keep them straight. Cannot use without help. He says the plastic is hot and makes his hands sweaty, which is uncomfortable — the soft, absorbent material over the plastic makes it more comfortable.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Not automatic

This is for very large hands

I had a failed surgery on 9/12/18 and my fingers are crippled and won't straighten. So therapy suggested a splint on her arm. This man killed me, even with painkillers he couldn't take the pain. When I pulled all the straps around my knuckles and tied them to the ribbed hard rubber board, I couldn't stretch my pinky far enough to attach it to the board. I wish I could figure out how to put a picture on here because that was awful.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Quality

Not comfortable I want

My husband's hand hurts at night, the idea is good, but not comfortable! If comfort were there, it would be great therapy for a stroke survivor. Just think, 8 hours of correct hand position while sleeping. I wanted something that would stretch my fingers. I think I need to stick with what I did, attach a tennis ball to the inside of his arm to straighten his arm, and gradually move on to serve ball and junior soccer. I told my husband the next thing was going to be a bowling ball!

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Negative is available

Could be better, but works in some cases.

I bought this for my mother who had a stroke and has partial paralysis of her hand on one side and has trouble flexing her hand and fingers (claw hand). They make hand rests at medical supply stores that are way better than these. You can adjust them to fit your hand. They are made of very comfortable, high quality material. And they are easy to put on without help. However, they can also be more expensive than these and you will have to have them customized. We bought it after my mom lost her…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Exchangeable
