Very poor quality, the best among hand tools

After several uses, the stone became very slippery and stopped working. I know how to use a whetstone, but this one is of very poor quality.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Doubtful

Pocket-sized Arkansas sharpening stone with leather case

The Arkansas sharpening stone (fine grit) is easy to carry in a pocket or backpack. The size is great for sharpening pocket knives. The leather pouch could be used as a leather belt if needed.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

Too small to sharpen anything

It's too small to be very effective. The size was stated in the description but until you hold it you don't understand how small and inefficient it is. Spend a few more dollars and buy a larger sharpening stone. You will be satisfied with your purchase.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • I really don't like it, it's ok

Choose the bigger and thicker one, not this one.

This stone is simply too small for sharpening pocket knives. It's not thick enough either. You have the finger of the hand you hold it in. I know you have to put it on a table or something, but I like feeling exactly how I'm sharpening my knife.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • will be added later

Well I really like the stone. It works. My problem with the order is that I ordered 1 hard stone and 1 soft stone but received 3 hard stones. Good thing my knives are already sharp enough and the 1 hard rock I isolated did the job. The remaining 2 stones went in reserve. I'd be pissed if I had a knife that really needed a soft stone.

Pros
  • Excellent general properties
Cons
  • ---

Ideal for pocket knives

I use this stone to sharpen pocket knives (mainly my Case Stockman) and I really like it. It fits perfectly in your pocket and can be discreetly stowed away anywhere, perfect for small tasks in the forest. With some lube (I usually use saliva or wd40) I can give my knives a nice sharp edge. Just remember that this is a smaller stone. So if you are looking to sharpen some large bushcraft/hunting knives I would recommend getting a larger stone.

Pros
  • Supplied in a leather sheath for protection when not in use.
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Each kit must contain at least one

Great little stone and this is the second stone I have bought. Just used it to sharpen a Cold Steel AUS8 blade after using it quite a bit on a recent hike. While AUS8 isn't very impressive, he gave himself a decent advantage with that checker and nothing else. As with sharpening any knife, patience and a consistent sharpening angle are required. This stone is relatively small and not intended for bench sharpening. Slip one in your backpack or gear and it gets the job done every time. These…

Pros
  • Hard Arkansas (Fine) used to create and maintain a sharp edge on each cutting tool.
Cons
  • Available in white only.

High quality stone! on power tools and hand tools

What a beautiful stone! Cuts perfectly with sharp edges at exactly 45 degrees and all surfaces are perfectly flat. All corners have a sharp point with no chips.I use this stone along with Dan's Clear Arkansas Stone (for polishing) in several trigger works from 1911..The stone is large enough to use the sides of details such as hammers , Sears and even the trigger to lightly smooth before polishing with Dan's ultra-fine translucent stone. Stones can do that too! When working, be sure to use a…

Pros
  • Hard (fine) Arkansas pocket whetstone is 3" long, 1" wide and 1/4" thick
