No questions. Good idea.

Product as advertised. I've been driving my 12 Jeep Wrangler for 2.5 years now with no problems. To give 5 stars I would have to ensure that the lock itself is very resistant to picking and I don't think for the price it is. but it's still much better than no lock at all.

Check Engine Light Comes On

After several back and forth attempts with this mounting cover and the original cover the ONLY way to keep the check engine lite working is to use the original ram cover. I see no Mopar markings or any other indication that this cap is MADE by Chrysler-Ram. No I do not recommend this lid - waste of time and money.

Didn't fit, didn't close

This gas cap was a total failure. As far as I could tell, it didn't fit properly in the gas filler tube. And I could tell because once it was "locked" and the key removed, you could remove the cap with no resistance. The keys are thin and look like they've broken off upon closer inspection. They returned.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Piggy bank Price

Highly recommended.

I got this because someone tried to drain the tank of my 2017 Ram 1500. I don't think they got gas the first time, but I wanted to scare them off even more. The only thing about this lock is the awkwardness of putting the key in the gas cap to open it. It's also great and I still fill up every 2-3 weeks. I no longer worry about stupid people doing stupid things to my gas tank.

  • cool item
Cons

Cheap key and lock good as spares

Too difficult to insert and open key. I don't have big hands so that's not a problem. My wife couldn't fill up because of this and when she brought it home I saw exactly how big the problem was. It's a combination of lack of space and cheap keys and locks. When I finally got the cap off, I threw it away and put the old non-sealable one back on. I still need a good solution to protect it from vandals. I have a RAM 1500 2017.

Pros
  • High score for support and durability from testers
Cons

WORKS well for gas cap

GENUINE DODGE RAM GAS CAP Nice OEM gas cap. My husband's expensive RAM truck sits outside providing much needed security. The lid fits and works great. The only problem with this is that the key is a bit difficult to get into the cap. He marked the key to indicate the correct position to insert into the lock. This helps save the five minutes it took him to unlock it at a gas station. This seems to be a very common problem with these lids. Good thing he only fills up every two or three weeks!

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Works but not sure if I have the original cover

I bought this a few months ago for my 2015 Jeep Wranger and it fits perfectly. I recently noticed that there was an "S" on the gas cap. on it instead of a mark "Mopar". I took a closer look and saw that my key had a square head and not a round one like the picture. It was packaged in a Mopar box but I'm wondering if it was accidentally altered. After all, he's doing his job. The only thing that I think could be improved is the keyhole sliding door, which is very flimsy and sometimes I have to…

Instructions with head

OK. Look, for future buyers, this thing came with no instructions, but I was wondering what instructions are needed? Just plug it in, turn the key, pull it out and it closes, right? Well, every time I did, it kicked off. I thought it was defective so I sent it back and bought it from a Dodge dealer. Damn if he didn't have the exact same problem (no instructions) and results. Then, almost accidentally, after pulling the key out, I turned it hard to the right. Here's the trick, as it turns out…

Pros
  • Very good price
