Fits like a charm onto the yellow 'easy-fill' tank neck. I'm sure it can be torn down eventually, but you have to be SUPER determined. The lock is smooth and secure, and the fit is surprisingly snug. Again, none of this will stop someone who is very determined, but I think it will put off most idlers and that's the whole point.

Saved me over $500: Replacement Parts

On my expedition, a faulty fuel filler door/flange on the gas filler neck was causing air to constantly enter the fuel system. My local dealer quoted over $500 and said the only solution was to replace the entire tank. This little device covered the tank opening and prevented air from entering the system. Also, it prevents anyone from trying to steal the fuel. Definitely save money! If you know someone who drives a Ford without a filling system, I highly recommend it!

Guaranteed Safety

I've bought three of these in the last few years. One for my 2012 Mustang GT, one for my 2013 King Ranch and one for a 2009 King Ranch that I no longer own. Everything worked as advertised and gave me complete peace of mind when traveling and parking in front of the house. Capless fueling is certainly a step up from having to remove the gas cap every time, but safety takes a backseat, regardless of what others say about the difficulty of removing fuel from a capless system. Believe me, it CAN…

An expensive attempt to solve a design problem, but worth the effort.

Very expensive for a cheap piece of plastic but hopefully this will stop various engine emission test codes due to a capless fuel tank. We live off a dusty road and this seems to be causing issues with seal leaks. In over 50 years of driving I've never had a problem with a good old hat. I've read reviews from people saying how much easier the new system is to use. If these people thought it was difficult to unscrew the lid, then I doubt they should have driven. If it were possible to order an…

Works great good for spares

Haven't had any problems with it so far. On my 2011 Fusion I get a lot of 'check fuel cap' warnings even after cleaning and lubricating the fuel filler neck, so I decided to give this a try. The warning hasn't come yet, so it seems to be working. Comes with two keys but I live in a good area so I put one key in the plug (the door still closes if the key stays in the plug) and the other key on the car keys. I have attached an image of the compatible vehicles list from the Ford website in case…

2012 F150 Parts

I'm in the same boat (or truck, so to speak) as R. Ross (2013 Ford Truck reviewer). Newer Ford trucks have a simple fuel system that's said to be impossible to steal gas from, so Ford feels there's no need for a gas cap (thus wasting time unscrewing it to fill it up). They also believe there is no need to lock the gas door for the same reason. No system is immune to gas theft, but I'm sure their system will make pumping gas a bigger headache for a thief. However, not everyone is worried about…

FORD EXPLORER 2008 SMOG PASSED!

I was told I would have to spend $1000 in parts and labor for a new filler neck for my 2008 Ford Explorer because an EVAP leak occurs when you install the fuel nozzle in the car. The small flap at the top of the fuel filler neck did not close properly. I cleaned the small sunroof seal but the plastic handles preventing it from opening for someone else to fill it were broken. Maybe that was one of the reasons why it didn't close? For me, buying a fuel filler neck from an auto parts store cost me

Great value insurance and protection

I've rented a few cars over the last few years and found that many didn't have a gas cap. They had a new stylish capless version with a print on the top. I suspect this was done to prevent fumes from escaping into the atmosphere as it's supposed to seal better than a standard cap. None of the cars I have owned come with this mount. That was until I bought a used 2014 Ford F-150. I'll admit that this makes filling up at the station easier and faster, but if you're filling up from a jerrycan at…
