Genuine Honda Parts 17220-RN0-A00 Air Filter: Essential Replacement for Honda Pilot Review

Honda parts made in China. I thought I was buying parts for Honda that weren't made in China but in another country. You might as well spend 80 percent less and buy a Chinese part that does the same thing.

OEM very high quality. I looked around at two major auto parts stores nearby and it wasn't obvious that they even had a filter for my 14 Pilot (which is such a common vehicle). And even if they did, the quality wouldn't match. That thing is heavy! Good price and prompt delivery.

The product looks high quality, sits straight. Also has a guide on one end to make sure it goes in the right direction. Installed with very little effort. Anyone with basic knowledge can substitute. There are many videos on YouTube if anyone wants to watch it first. Disconnecting the sensor cable on the air intake hose makes the job easier (don't forget to reconnect it before closing everything).

My Honda dealer wanted $35 to replace the cab air filter on my Honda Pilot. I looked on YouTube and saw that it's so easy for a caveman to do and it only takes a few minutes. So I saved $25 and got myself some personal satisfaction. For a cabin air filter, it would be crazy to use a well-known brand with an additional premium. That works great. I am happy with this purchase and will purchase more as needed.

I keep getting the wrong part sent. Someone keeps sticking an aftermarket tag on the box saying this filter is P/N 17220-RN0-A00, but you can easily peel off that tag and see that it's actually 17220-RV0-A00, which is another filter with a corner angle. This part does not fit my 2013 Pilot as the description and picture suggest.

I used to order this from Amazon and always got an OEM replacement. The last one wasn't OEM. It was sold by Amazon and I usually have no doubts about items sold directly by Amazon until now. No Honda packaging, no labelling, just a filter in a clear pouch. I think it's true that they mix their inventory so make sure you get what was advertised and what you paid for.

This is high quality and OEM complete with correct numbers etc. Installation time is around 5 minutes from start to finish. Order in pairs so you always have one in stock. This simple job will save you a lot of money. All you have to do is loosen (don't remove, just loosen) the 4 Phillips screws and put a new one in the same orientation, make sure the gasket is in place, and retighten the 4 screws. With this OEM filter you will have no installation problems.
