Serves its purpose but can be a bit tricky to install.

The cover works, but installation can be difficult. The lip doesn't hold the pot in place, so you'll probably have to go around a few times to make sure the lid stays tight around the pot. It stays in place after installation, but it's easy to make the mistake of not fully installing it. I would use this lid with caution if I were to transport a pot of liquid in the car. It's easy to imagine how it will break if you trip over a bump or turn a corner. The lid remains flexible even at low…

made like a tank and worth the money

First of all it's made like a tank and worth the money. It's a heavy, flexible material, like a wobbly frisbee. If you put it on a hot pot of food and let it cool, it will hang inward and create suction. It's very nicely made. However, I don't use it as often as I thought I would. I have a family of two, so I don't often keep a whole pot of food in the fridge. I put half in the freezer and split the other half between our same size plates and boxes (for lunch). But if you have a large family…

The silicone allows for a different fit than a plastic lid.

Fits better than some reviewers have assured me. It fits snugly, but because it's made of silicone, it's thicker, heavier, and very flexible compared to plastic storage lids. It doesn't "buckle" but should "sit down" on the edge of the pan. Due to the flexibility and thickness, it would be easier to "knock off" the lid, but not too much. I believe it is airtight if installed correctly. I'm guessing the designers made it out of silicone because the pan can still be warm when covered, and…

Unnecessary accessories

You can be tempted to buy a lot of accessories that are not included in the original pressure cooker. Considerations: After a meal is cooked and there are leftovers, wait until the contents are cool enough to cover and refrigerate? I would break up the contents into smaller serving containers that don't take up as much space in the fridge. Or you can use a dinner plate or pot lid as a lid. If you want to keep it lucky, just keep it in a pot with the original lockable lid (which has handles you…

It really does stick best to dishes

I just bought my Instant Pot and was looking for some sort of lid that I can use to close the lid while my dishes are on the table and cooling. Our naughty cat loves to climb on the counter and taste dinner. So if it's not covered, it sticks its paw in and eats the chicken. My first thought was that $12 for a lid is a bit pricey, but the price of a glass lid outweighs the price. I think it's too expensive. When the lid arrived I couldn't believe the smell. It's a fake cheap rubbery plastic…
