after changing the filter, the device told me the first time I saw it was really dirty, now I change it once a month and it's dirty and I have to once be replaced every month.

The first purchase was exactly the same as the filters that came with the unit. Solid, tight. This batch is thin, fragile and thicker but less dense. I have yet to use them but would rather get the style that comes with the device. I'll probably try to find a better aftermarket filter.

My initial reaction was the same as others who complained that these charcoal filters felt thinner than the original filter that came with the product. However, after using one of these for a month and checking it out, it did a really great job of keeping dust and hair out of the main filter.

I use it with my Germ Guardian air purifier but I don't have a vacuum attachment to 'suck' it when it gets dirty so I replace it every time. The packaging for this order was terrible - the filters were folded in half. I assume/hope they line up reasonably well once installed, but I'm wondering if the product is damaged as their outer "side" doesn't fit against the lid when closed.

This activated carbon pre-filter is perfect for my Guardian Technologies AC5000E. Easy to replace my obviously dirty pre-filter. A 4 pack is especially handy as I have several AC5000Es at home. Can't tell if it's real. say it Next time will buy directly to see. If so, then that's fine. But like other reviews it's thinner than the one in the box and doesn't have velcro on the charcoal lining like the original. But it fits and holds well because the main cartridge filter has velcro. These are basically the cheapest quality pre-filters you can buy. I would not recommend them. They are VERY porous. They only take the biggest items like dog/cat fur, absolutely NOTHING the smaller stuff, so almost ALL filtration comes from the filter itself, which is a lot more expensive. I have 2 GermGuardian AC5350B filter machines and the manufacturer recommends changing the very expensive main filter every 6 months.
