I would replace the D ring that comes with this to something a little stronger. The D ring has a threaded locking ring that threads upwards to lock it in place from being able to unlock itself. Also, make sure you know how to tie a good strong knot, the rope doesn't come attached to the magnet. Other than that, the magnet seems very strong and the rope is good quality

We have been out fishing at least 6 times since we got this and I would day the BIGGEST thing we have picked up was a catfish bell. MOSTLY hooks of all sorts NOT anything heavy at all! We have fished off bridges, docks and in our paddleboat. The next one we buy will be directly from a magnet fishing company. 2-2.5 Star rating.

Having great fun with this magnet. I used the loop with the blue connector to attach it to the magnet. It came off! Luckily it was in a creek and we were able to retrieve it. I recommend that you tie your own knot. And get a better carabiner hook. I wish I got 2 of these as the kids fight over it. And so do I. ;-)
