It was a gift and I'm told it was the best gift they had for Christmas. So it was a win. The brush is excellent and I've had the opportunity to use it as well. We tried it on fine, medium and coarse naturally curly hair. Worked great on fine to medium hair. For someone with coarse hair we had to straighten it in much smaller sections but it worked well but I can see that this may not seem more effective if you have coarse hair and have used a flat iron before. It's great for fine hair though.

It took me a while to get the hang of this hair tool but once I did, WOW! I part my hair and wrap it around the wand from the bottom up, in the direction I want the curl to go. I hold it for about 20 seconds and then gently detangle my hair. I also use a stick at the roots to add volume. It helps to watch some YouTube videos to learn.
