Not real wool! good for knitting and crocheting

I bought this set to wet felt and it did NOT felt. Turns out this isn't real wool, I brought a lighter to it and it MELTED. Wool doesn't melt, it's a kind of plastic fiber. It may be fine for knitting, but call it what it is, don't try to pass off the plastic as real wool.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Weak set

This is NOT wool - the picture shows melted plastic.

Cannot give zero stars. I bought this product for felting artwork. It's definitely NOT wool; the fibers will not be felt and will melt into a drop when brought to the flame. The price is comparable to natural merino wool! Do not be fooled! The last time I made a purchase without reading the reviews, others had already posted a similar warning not to buy this junk.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Not what I expected.

First of all I have to say that I didn't want to use this yarn for hand knitting. I planned to weave it and wrap it around a post in my basement living room. But when I unwound it to make my 3 strands it broke with very little pull. So I wanted to make 3 skeins of equal length and then weave them. The fibers were just separating as I unwound the wool from the skein. It wasn't strong at all. I don't understand how this can work with hand knitting because it's so fragile, but I've never hand…

Pros
  • practical article
Cons
  • so far, so good

Addicted to this stray wool!

I'm obsessed with this yarn and because it's expensive I just can't stop buying it! It's incredibly soft, but be aware that since roving isn't twisted, it can easily fall apart. I recommend felting as it's a great way to prevent this. I ordered light gray and the shade is just perfect. Using some tutorials on YouTube, I learned how to easily knit arms with this yarn and made a 4.4 lb blanket. This yarn can also be used on large needles - sizes 50, 70 and 150 are suitable. Everything is perfect.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
