Beware of CentOS (maybe all Linux?)

I was looking to replace my full 1st Gen Core i7 quad core processor with this little box and its quad core Celeron processor , which according to many testing websites is about the same performance, with support for DDR4 and all that. Well, it doesn't seem quite on par, but the Core i7-870 isn't that much faster. The problem is that CentOS7 cannot be installed with the built-in WLAN card - some kind of incompatibility. Works great with Windows 10. I haven't tried other distributions. To make…

Great cheap fast Linux system

I was looking for a small media server build box, stumbled upon it along with newer Celeron processors and decided to give it a try. Added 240GB M.2 and 16GB RAM. Created a Mint 19.2 O/S Flash (mainly Ubuntu) and booted from it. Installation went smoothly! Earned very quickly. They had a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card built in, which is as expected, and both seem to work fine with the Linux install I did. One problem is that 4k video doesn't work well over a standard HDMI connection. I found out that

Amazing Computers and Accessories

Perfectly tuned and quiet. Good solid build quality. Insert 256 M2 disk, 8 gigabytes of RAM and boot Win10 LTSC without problems. Use it as a streaming box next to my desktop (Xfinity Stream, Netflix, YouTube etc.) on a second monitor. Handles everything well, not buggy. Works very fast. 2 things that might help others: When I first connected to the monitor, I used a DVI to HDMI cable (DVI was on the monitor). blank screen The only way to get a signal was another monitor, HDMI-HDMI. After that…

if you can't, here is the answer

1. This is for Windows 10 only. Something on the DVD mentions Windows 7 but I used my Windows 7 license to activate Windows 10 and that's fine2. If it's not done correctly at startup, the USB won't accept your flash drive and you won't be able to install anything. Make sure you have set up your USB storage3 correctly. I had to do the initial setup from the command line in a shell. I found that one of the reviewers gave exactly the right steps to get started. I think you can see for yourself…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Some little things

The only negative is the games. And who can seriously expect to be able to play on EVERY computer without a major investment. This computer works as advertised. Add a 1TB SSD, 16GB DDR4 and Windows 10 Home OS and this little PC runs VERY well. This is the second Micro PC I know of. And it has exceeded all my expectations for these little computers. In fact, it streams flawlessly with KODI. Net Flix and Youtube work great in high definition, no skipping, no stuttering, no syncing. A stable USB…

Pros
  • Quality assembly
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
