Replaced tweeters in the JBL Creature speaker system.

I used two of these to replace the tweeters on a JBL Creature. Although slightly shorter than the originals, they work great and are a lot cheaper than the originals.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • So far so good

It suits my purpose

This speaker sounds about as good as you would expect from a 1.5" cone - good enough for small sound effects in my project but not quite" high-quality". Now my biggest problem is how to include them in my project window.

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Sad package

This speaker is huge, not suitable for my project at all.

I bought this to replace the speaker in my talking kitchen scale. This speaker is approximately 1 1/4 inches tall. Somehow I missed it in the product description, otherwise I would not have ordered it. Didn't work for my project.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • too stupid

Good sound for this size.

The sound is excellent for its size. I put them in my mini arcade machine and hooked them up to a regular 3w 2ch amp running Raspberry Pi filtered PWM audio and they sound great! Not room-filling, but loud enough for a bit of conversation.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Working, quality is not perfect

I use them with Arduino to play sounds. They work well for this purpose. I use them at 1/4W and they are loud enough for my needs. However, I doubt there is any quality control in their manufacture. One has a few scuffs and marks on the metal case, the other has what appears to be burn marks on one of the ports. See photos, how they looked when I took them out of the box.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Great for Arduino projects

I soldered 20 gauge wire and attached Dupont pins to each speaker. They worked perfectly with DFPlayer and MP3 Player TF card U drive. None of the players were able to push them in levels of distortion. They withstood the volume up to the power limit of the breadboard power supply (the type that snaps onto the top and bottom rails of the breadboard). The DFPlayer and MP3 Player amplifiers require more power than this power supply can supply. But there are no problems with speakers.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Sound quality ok. no bass don't count on bass with them.

Sound quality OK. no bass don't count on bass with them. Even with a large passive radiator you don't hear much below 200Hz, they are better suited to complement a small subwoofer. Sounds great when tuned to a nice Bluetooth 2.1 speaker setup. Separate subwoofer for better sound. then they sound pretty good.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Doubtful

Creatures brought back to life!

You helped bring my old JBL Creatures back to life! The subwoofer is fully functional. Both satellite speakers (tweeters) decayed / fell apart and made almost no sound rendering them unusable. However, it was a shame to throw them away. While it took some effort to install and hold these two replacement speakers in place (they don't exactly fit where the original speakers were), they sound great!

Pros
  • Nice design
Cons
  • No insurance
