Good price for a good pair of sharpening shears. My best sewing scissors are also Gingher and I've been very happy with them for years. They are heavier than other well known brands but I like the weight. I had other cleavage scissors that didn't cut well, so I decided to try these. The hinge is quite strong and easy to open and close even with a drop of oil. No lighter pair of scissors open as easily as scissors but this set was extremely tough, I was only able to make a few cuts in the fleece sheet (one) and the scissors injured my thumb. I bought these pink pliers because they are half the price of the same product at Joann I thought. It must be fake or defective so the price is reduced, I went to Joanne and bought the Fiskars brand for $35, they are the same company that makes the Ginger and they really work! I never write reviews but after reading so many mixed and confusing reviews on this and other cleavage scissors I felt compelled to do so. it will be such a test. Mine were very old, they were my grandmothers. They started simply shredding or folding the fabric instead of cutting it. Sharpening them would have cost me more than replacing them, which isn't entirely critical, but when the plastic handle broke they became really useless. Fiskars but they are a lower brand, can't remember the name.
