Amazing price! The light comes with extendable legs to fit a variety of tanks (rimmed or rimless). Additionally, it comes with brackets for rimless aquariums and a hanging kit if you want to hang it from the ceiling. It also comes with a dual timer (usually around $10). This is a great light, but the price of $149 without the fluorescent light is about $40 more than I paid for my Hagen light. These lanterns have been discontinued and new lanterns from old stock are now in short supply. This led to price gouging. Hagen has released an updated version of the Hagen T5 flashlights under the Fluval brand name. Uniform lighting systems no longer exist. I was having trouble with low lighting in my 20 gallon tank. The standard dome only allowed 15 watts of regular fluorescent light, which was barely enough for even dimly lit plants. I use this light on a 20 gallon reef tank. I needed something more than my 2 bulb HO light and this is almost perfect. The lamp itself works perfectly, the ends of the lamps are protected by a plastic sleeve and O-rings. (bulb not included) and easy to install. Extremely difficult installation of a light bulb (tube). As you know, in order to fit a T5 HO filament bulb into a fixture according to the instructions in the manual, after inserting the tube into the sockets, we need to "gently" rotate the bulb 90 degrees to lock it in place. It is almost impossible to perform this rotation with this device without breaking the bulb. The rotating part in the bushings is too rigid.
