Bad battery for safety reasons

Save money. Bought to detect a possible leak in the under sink water heater. After setting up the device it said the battery was low so I tried to order a replacement from Revain but the cr2 3v batteries that Revain stock are too big for the device so I tried a local CVS who stocked them for $20. Consider $31 per unit, $20 per battery. Not a good investment so he returned.

These devices come with dead batteries

Love the connectivity of this product and the ability to use the app and Alexa. However, I have ordered 10 of these devices. Of the 6 I've installed so far, 3 came with dead batteries. I had to wait a few days for new batteries to arrive in the mail. Very disappointed that the new product comes with batteries in this condition. Update after finally managed to set up the last 4. All 4 batteries are completely empty. I have to order new batteries again.

The sensor works great with the iPhone. I will test and update again in a week.

I received the smart sensor and the only part that wasn't clear was step 3. You need to unscrew the cap counterclockwise 1/8 turn. Pull out the plastic tab to save battery power. Now you can register your device. After registering the device, I was able to test it by slightly wetting my palm and placing the three contacts from the base of the sensor on my palm, and I received notifications directly through the app.

To update. may depend on which version of the product you receive.

Update. Didn't impress. Easy to set up but not noisy at all. Worked flawlessly the first day after installation. The second day doesn't work, no light, no alarm, nothing. It could be a battery but it's not a common type and should definitely last more than a day. i will send it back Sent the first one back but wanted a second chance and bought another one. The second came and turned out to be slightly different in design. This second alert is V2 which I have on my V1 retina. V2 seems to work…
