GMB 190-1040 OE Replacement Water Pump: The Perfect Solution with Gasket Review

Perfect fit and great price. This block fits my 1992 Volvo 940GLE, I had my doubts when ordering this part for my restoration project, it sat in the crate for 6 months before finally installing it. I will definitely be ordering more auto parts from Revain in the future.

I have not yet installed this pump but I have used several of the same GMB pumps in the past and each has outlasted the vehicle it was installed in (ex. 100,000 miles). I've seen other comments about gasket issues, so I might use the OEM gasket as insurance. As you probably know, you have to press it against your head when you put it on to properly close the outlet.

Delivery was right on schedule. But the water pump seal is poorly made. The seal was leaking and had to be disassembled again. After taking it apart a second time to stop the leaks, I bought a gasket kit from my local parts store. The gasket fitted and the two o-rings were seated properly and we had no leaks. I hope the water pump won't cause us any problems either. So be careful.
