Durable design for dogs

It was hard to find such a length in wood. These are high quality wooden gates that get the job done. Being longer than most wooden gates, they can be used in various places to close off a room, door or hallway.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Retrofittable

Locking pins in doors, gates and ramps

This is an attractive strong gate. Two complaints: the table it stood on VERY misjudges the height of the screw and the latch is terrible. My hands hurt to use (I actually get a cut from frequent, proper use of the bar), and WD-40 didn't help. I don't think we can continue to use this gate in a high traffic area as the latch is very poorly designed and complicated.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Useless features

Good gate, bad locking

Good gate that extends a long distance. We painted ours, it turned out beautifully. We have kept our 50 lb dog at home and she has done a good job although not walking very well. The only downside of this gate is the latch - it is very cheap and difficult to operate. We've gotten to the point where we don't even use it, we just use the bottom hook. I wish they would just replace it with a better latch or even a different hook.

Pros
  • Consistent test results

The perfect gate for wide porches

This was my last attempt at finding a gate for my stair case. The bottom of my ladder is very wide, about 82 inches, and all of the other gates were at least 6 inches shorter. This goal was the solution. Really easy to install. It probably took me about 10 minutes because my cats ate the instructions so easy to install even with the limited instructions. Pretty durable and protects my little one from the stairs. Really great goal!

  • Very impressive

Best Goals for Dogs - Dogs

The instructions are a bit hard to understand but I'm not very handy either lol. It took me about 25 minutes, and 20 of those minutes I was trying to understand what the instructions were telling me. We tried probably 10 different gates and this one was the best. It meets all the requirements we wanted. It keeps my two English Mastiffs, Boston Terrier, Chihuahua, Australian Shepherd and American Staffy from jumping on people when they come in the front door and when not in use it folds up…

  • Free for educational purposes

Good extension length

I buy one of these every year for my porch steps ($80 each summer) to keep my dogs on the porch. This is the longest extendable gate I can find. It breaks down every year but I'm expecting it since I've got it out in the elements. This year I painted it to protect and prolong its life. When we opened the gate the second time, it broke. They are still functional but I was very disappointed as the gate is very expensive and I spent over $10 on paint. These are the only gates I can find that fit…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Great price

Should be good with young children and small animals

We used this to make a small space for my 9 month old baby's play area. This was the maximum recommended width. We used common sense and screwed it into the lugs. That doesn't do anything in drywall. O looks pretty good and I can see it suits my purposes. I would not trust him with very aggressive dogs or child climbers. The only thing I don't like is the locking mechanism. It's not one hand and it's not easy. I have a hard time squeezing it hard enough to catch it. Blocks used as spacers have…

Pros
  • Nice packaging

Yes! Buy it! This is the best!

An excellent decision! I wish we found this before we spent LOTS more on the fancier metal type (which looks really nice but doesn't fold well and always gets in the way). It is easy to install (2 small brackets on one side and 2 latches). on the other hand!) comes off easily and looks pretty good! I'm going to paint it white to match the paneling. He's actually sturdier than I thought and my two 60lb Doodles stay behind him with no problem (they're used to the gate anyway so jumps are minimal…

  • An absolute legend

  • There are doubts

Excellent dog gate is good for dogs

I bought this gate to keep dogs locked up in a room or yard at home. These are "fixed" gates, meaning you can't easily move them from one room to another. Wherever you place them, they will persist until you move them. So far I have been very happy with this purchase. The gate works great! I gave 4 stars for maneuverability and it may or may not be justified. The goal comes with a central leg and this leg has a rubber foot. To open/close the gate, the rubber foot doesn't slide well on the…
