GOLDENROD 496-3/4 WATER-BLOCK FILTER (56591) with 3/4" NPT Top Cap - Bowl Fuel Tank Filter Review

I've been using these filters on my Fill-Rite for years and they've never let me down. The skin will darken after a few years in direct sunlight, but that is to be expected. There are no problems with the tap below; turn right and it works. do not overtighten; you can move it A finger suit is always sufficient.

Superb fuel filter for my diesel tank. I use it on my Emiliana Serbatoi Carrytank 220 as it doesn't have a filter. It works as intended, keeping the fuel clean and free of water. The shell has a crystal clear amber color and the accumulation of water in it is clearly visible. The packaging was excellent and safe. As for leakage, all you have to do is turn the shut-off valve so that it reaches the extreme position. There are no leaks at all.

Fast delivery. The box was in perfect condition. Very easy installation. There are no leaks at all. When I installed the body I checked the filter, bowl for leaks and made sure the faucet was fully closed (reverse thread). No problem. As long as you check everything for leaks when installing, you won't have any leaking issues as mentioned in previous reviews. After installation I had 40 gallons of diesel although there were no problems. Great product, I would buy again.

If you are thinking of buying a goldenrod fuel filter. NOT. Save yourself disappointments. I bought one and installed it and the faucet drain was leaking. Ok, that happens sometimes. So I sent it back to Revain, bought another one and installed it again. Draining the tap on the second - flows in the same way as on the first. I have now retired to treat a dangerous smelly diesel leak as a maintenance issue. I hated this product. I would never have bought this product if I knew what I know now.

It was pretty darn easy to install. Plastic "cup" is very hard. Time will tell if it becomes opaque under UV light, but at this point it is very clear making it easy to see if your separator has dirt or water in it. I had the exact same issue others have listed. When first installed, fuel flowed freely from the lower drain valve. When I tried to close the valve, the thumbscrew broke. In the end I managed to close the valve with pliers, but my problems didn't end there. I tried to refuel my tractor but a lot of fuel started leaking out from under the top cup/O-ring. So, in my opinion, the price is quite acceptable, for what. The installation is self-explanatory, if you need a pump tank filter, I think you are sufficiently familiar with pipe threads. Mine didn't leak like other reviews say. However, the release valve on the bottom must remain tightened before use. If you forget to check this valve, it will drain like a faucet. Con: Ordered these filters from Revain. The filters did not match the description, arrived on time and in good condition. The description states that NPT (National Pipe Thread) is one inch in diameter. The filter that arrived was 3/4" NPT. This description prompted me to buy adapters that I don't need.
