Be careful! Best in Collars, Harnesses & Leashes

Nice collar but my dog completely slipped out of it while walking. The collar was put on correctly (not too loose), thought we had a winner, used it several times but this time I pulled the dog from the front (as opposed to the traditional method - from the back) so it didn't walking into the neighbor's yard, the collar just slipped off the neck very quickly and very easily. In a split second, the dog was completely free and out of my control. Was very tense. Can be very dangerous for animal…

Was able to adjust to a very small puppy

We have a very small puppy weighing 2.5 pounds and none of the small or extra small harnesses we have tried fit him properly. Even with that Gooby harness (small size - there wasn't an extra small option) he literally came out. But I was able to make a small modification and now the suspension fits perfectly. I cut off two small buckle straps and then wrapped a small piece of velcro around the straps that the rings attach to (just to hold the rings in place). See photos for better…

Turn your dog into a little X-Men

I have a 13 pound dachshund who pulls so hard he sounds like an old man pulling every time we go for a walk is about to have a stroke. The medium-length harness fits perfectly with all adjustments in the minimum length. That means we have room to stretch should he get morbidly obese from all the treats we've given him to teach him to walk without bucking. Added bonus for yellow and blue colors. We pretend he's a little X-Men in training and his mutant power is in full swing. His reincarnated…

I love this harness

I love this harness! I have a 5.5 lb Pomeranian so I ordered a small one for her. It's a little big in the chest area, but that's only because it's so small and narrow. She still doesn't come out of the harness or anything and HER really likes it because she can run like crazy and she doesn't choke. She jumps up and down and stretches out her paws when it's time to go outside! :) It also attaches nicely to her car seat (we have a plush car seat for her with a console to attach your seat belt…

Good quality, comes loose when pulled

In theory I like the design of this harness. My 6 month old dachshund has difficulty with harnesses due to his long body. They tend to punch her in the throat. The X design prevents this. It also seems to be of good quality as she chews on the tourniquets and I haven't seen any signs of chewing on this one yet. The only downside I found is that it still pulls a lot and I think this causes the straps to loosen. She slipped out of him twice in one morning before I knew it. Aside from having to…

The best harness I've found for a pug!

Highly recommended for pugs! Pros - Soft suede straps that won't chafe, X-shaped design sits lower on the chest. Cons - Lower chest straps can make it easier for the dog to slip backwards off the leash if not closely watched. My pug's neck was too high and looked uncomfortable. Also, the nylon washed away the fur from his armpits where the straps wrapped around his chest, just behind his front legs. as if it hit him in the neck when sitting. The webbing on the part of the harness that goes…

Don't buy the best harness

We have just adopted a dog rescued from the meat trade in China. Everything is new to him as he has never known anything other than life in a slaughterhouse. We live on 30 acres on a mountain in Vermont. I walk our dogs every day so I need a harness for our new boy. I like the idea of the Gooby harness because it doesn't put any pressure on the windpipe. It took me 3 tries to get a 'fit' harness because the sizing charts in the product posts are not accurate. After only 4 rides this harness…

A little big but overall I'm happy

After using this belt for a bit I'm raising my rating. I still say the sizes are a little off. Although it was a little loose, my dog wore it most days without incident. She did not chew it and showed no signs of physical discomfort or irritation. We haven't had her in situations where she's really trying to break free, but for regular outings it's fine. She's a small dog, so oversized harnesses always bother me. that is exactly what is needed. For now, I recommend this harness with the caveat…
