I hate stepping on the litter box! We have a large hooded cat box that controls odor and most of the litter for our two teenage cats. I also recommend what another reviewer posted. Open the box to give the cats a better chance of wiping their paws before touching the linoleum. If you enlarge my photos you can see where most of the liter ends up. (Busy for a few days - need to clean up😳)

Bought with a new tray. The cat thinks it's urine. It catches dirt well and holds urine remarkably well. I take it outside, get up, dry it in 15 minutes, quickly put it back in the box. The cat had little time to train me. Note that if a cat uses one corner to urinate, the 3/8 inch tall plastic Brillo rectangles allow a cat to lie on the other side without getting wet.

The rug is big enough for what I need it for. It's non-stick so it doesn't move when I clean it. My cat likes to urinate right in front of the litter box and throws tons of litter on the ground outside when she digs. I can easily vacuum up the mess she leaves on the carpet which is great. I've had problems that other people have had with dirt getting caught in the stitch patterns, but that's the whole point of this rug, keeping the dirt in the rug and not spreading elsewhere. I bought this gray non-slip mat for my large liter cat (for 2 cats), measuring 35 x 23. The one I used didn't work properly. I chose this rug because of the good reviews and good results.
