Don't buy 3K, buy it 5K!

I used the full metal version of the same size over 10 years ago and enjoyed using it for years until the rubber rings fell off. The price is worth it! I recently had a 3K and the legs could be removed while mounted on a lamp post ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. Luckily I kept the M50 with the L lenses attached. I found this to be a common problem and the warranty doesn't help as that plastic bezel keeps tearing. I have this 5K and I made a cut on the socket to finally make sure it's metal although the balls are plasticโ€ฆ

Disintegrated under the weight of my Canon 70D Useless.

For $100 you don't get what you pay for. It is said to be the strongest and most durable flexible module ever. Well, after a few uses, I noticed that the legs are already worn out and are 50% stronger than new ones. At this point I was using a lighter camera and initially set the Gorillapod up on my desk (not outdoors or in extreme conditions). I recently bought a Canon 70d and this item is now unusable. Gorillapod falls under Canon's weight. This item has been sold and listed as suitable forโ€ฆ

It was an excellent companion. It worked great for night photos in .

Bought for a week long tour of Italy. It was an excellent companion. It worked great for Venice night photos. I was able to comfortably wrap the Joby around the bridge railing for long exposures. These bridges were over channels so I was a little nervous, but after checking all the screws I was happy with the Joby's durability. I paired it with a Canon 7D and a 24-104 lens, a very nice setup. I was able to get a 30 second exposure with no blur or vibration. At almost every photo shoot inโ€ฆ

will never pack a camera without it.

Ideal running and shooting device for the RC/active shooter. This thing handles mirrorless cameras with ease and works great with action cameras. Unfold the legs for the over-the-shoulder shooting format and it's very stable for interviews and panoramas. In tripod mode, it fits on any type of surface and has enough weight not to get in the way of the wind. It will wrap around the object, even bridging odd gaps, and attach to almost anything. When shooting a long telephoto, just spread your legs

WAS a great product until I damaged my camera and broke my legs.

. Despite the bad reviews, I took a chance and bought it with tips on how to minimize the "abuse" a tripod might be subjected to. but then two of the legs came loose and my camera popped off the "fixed" mounting plate. Over the course of four days, I installed the GorillaPod on trees, mountain view railings (Squamish, BC), bridges and a bike. And for four days, GorillaPod worked like a dream. He held on tight and there was no question of shaking. The workflow was always the same: 1) Check theโ€ฆ

Robust construction, robust design. Winner!

I eyed this tripod for a long time and finally decided to pull the trigger and buy it because I wanted a good vacation tripod. Let me just say this thing is RELIABLE and built like a tank. That's exactly what I was looking for in a tripod. I have a Canon T5i and it does a great job. I can't wait to see how many positions I can put my camera in. UPDATE: 5/10/2016 I had this tripod and loved it for four months, but tonight I went through my gear and straightened one of the tripods. legs, andโ€ฆ

So far, so good. I'm a little tired because of the many reviews.

so far, so good. I was a little tired, since many reviews said that the legs fell off after manipulations. So far I haven't had this problem. The item I received was new with no signs of wear. So far I've manipulated the legs and they're stiff enough to hold my camera with no issues. The tripod easily holds my A6500 mirrorless camera with a small cage. The ball joint does not move after tightening. Ball joint movement is comfortable and smooth. The quick release platform has a handy featureโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Flexibility: roll-up legs allow you to mount professional photographic equipment to almost any surface
Cons
  • boring packaging

Nice but a bit big, stiff and heavy

I got it 3 weeks ago and the price was a little over 100 so writing this review I am shocked that the price has increased by more than twenty-nine dollars in such a short time. In any case, this beast is very different from my original tiny Gorilla Pod case, which only my 195g Canon S95 can carry, not my 440g Fujifilm X30, and certainly nothing heavier than that. However, THAT GorillaPod is strong. The legs are strong and too stiff and I can see it was quite difficult to wrap it around thingsโ€ฆ
