I refuse to buy special tools but when you work with your bikes you will need these tools and for this price you can't go wrong

The master link doesn't go all the way through so I can't chain the chain together. Used the tool from the kit to make a chain tensioner bracket for my mini bike.

This tool is very difficult to use compared to others I've had. This also broke very quickly when threading it in, and the cheap plastic button broke completely when I pushed it a bit to screw the new Shimano pin into the new chain. Now I have a broken pen, a useless new $60 chain, and a broken tool. Do yourself a favor and buy a better instrument.

Very good price for this set. There are LOTS of chain maintenance kits out there, and to be honest they all look like they have the same items (give or take a tool or two) - all likely from the same Chinese supplier. I immediately tested the chain cutter on an old chain as most people complain about it - often worked well. The universal links (and tooling) worked - even had the right one for my 10 speed. It's perfect for my needs.

For $18 you can't go wrong! That's a lot of basic mechanical stuff for a cheap bike! adjustable to fit custom size chains, they are chunky but not oversized. Comes with an extra nozzle that pushes into the handle so you can't lose it and damage the original. The pliers are nothing special, but they look good and work well. The chain tester is a waste of time, but it is accurate. He also had 3 fast connections. Lots of decent stuff for less than $20 is a win.

The main reason I bought this set was the chain cutter. The wrench and main links were just extras. My chain cutter broke after only using it once. The piece of metal that pushes the links outward bends slightly when pressed firmly on the links. Even when centered on a limb, it bends! This requires you to put more force into the mechanism to turn it. It's a cheap piece of metal. Worse, the handle is made of semi-breakable plastic.
