Extremely durable rim tape

It's a little tricky to install on a bike and even trickier to install tubes/wheels once installed, but it's extremely durable. Don't be afraid to stretch it to the right size.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Not bad

Much better than cotton based rim tape

These rim rubber pads are essential for tandem bikes on rough roads. The old cotton ball comes off as the rim heats up under hard braking on steep descents, exposing the spoke nipple holes, resulting in tire failure.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Uncertain

Thank God I don't have an apartment! Bye :)

I recently changed the rear rim on my Schwinn Wayfarer and had 2 flats in 2 weeks due to the rim not road hazards. The puncture sites on the tube were almost identical. Installed a gray road clincher rim (over an existing original liner) and have had no problems since. Crossed fingers!

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Not the best

Don't buy they don't stay in place

DO NOT BUY Installation was very easy, the fabric is quite thick I think. BUT! They don't stay put at all. I got 2 flat tires because the needles hit the tube. I was 5 miles from a 30 mile trip and got an apartment. Got it fixed, got another apartment 15ft away. I had to walk five miles in bike shoes. Not cool and not worth learning from the mistakes of others.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons

Good Sport Liners

I just had an issue with an older Cannondale road bike where the stock liners began to crumble causing repeated punctures. I bought these earbuds and thought they were way better than what was out there. This rim liner is elastic enough to easily fit over the rim and fits well. It looks pretty solid and provides a good base for the lamps. A good product.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Band

Correct size is most important

I bought a 16mm tape to fit my 40mm ICAN Aero rims. The tape that came with the rims was crap and I got a few pinches. I then bought a good fabric strap from France but the size was 22mm and the tire just didn't fit properly on the rim which made it feel like it was deforming while riding. Now that I have the right size and a good band like this Gray Road, everything is fine again. Size matters!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Clarity

Good work. in cycling

Worked for my purpose - matched my rims perfectly - had a front rim with poor spoke cut/finish - the original tape that came with the rim was paper thin causing the tube damage - replaced the original with this and the tube seems to be holding up well - also tried cleaning the rim - shaved it off with a dremel tool. So . I've tackled the problem 2 times but in any case a new rim tape after 2-3 years is always a good idea. or annually - especially for the cost of it :)

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Upgrade available

Best edge strips on the market

I generally prefer cloth strips as plastic and synthetic strips can curl and harden over time and cause slow leaks as they dig into the hose. Many modern wheel sets and tire combinations that are difficult to fit at best - notably the Vittoria and Continental - a thicker (fabric) rim strip can prevent this. These stripes are the best of both worlds. They are thin so as not to interfere with the installation and do not interfere with the pipe in any way. Thanks for a quality product!

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Problems

Bicycle tube burst within 3 minutes

Fitting the rim tape was easy. The tape lay well on the rim as expected. I used a brand new inner tube, fresh out of the box, bought at a bike shop. After mounting the tire on the rear rim and mounting the rear wheel on the bike, I road tested the bike several times by riding up and down the curb. The inner tube is cracked. I disassembled the tire, blew out the tube to see where the hole was and found a hole inside that would abut the rim. The hole was round and small. It looks like a pinprick.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Basically ok, but...
