Funny stuff, but they don't tell you it takes multiple coats (and days) to get a deep effect. And while I don't mind, anyone looking for consistent results should look elsewhere.

I have used all four colors on pure brass components (one color at a time, not all together). They all played exactly the way I wanted them to. The paint is fairly transparent and doesn't peel off, which is a plus.

First by the way I'd love to buy Dye Oxides if they sold them in such a small pack (note from sellers). I have to buy them elsewhere as they are too expensive individually. They are faster than Jax and give much better results. I would like a little more bang for my buck as I go through them like water but I cannot recommend this brand enough.

I just received these today so haven't used them yet. However, I noticed something about two bottles. Copper and silver bottle labels are very different from other bottle labels. The labels appear faded and appear almost copied. In addition, the substance in the brass and silver bottles is very viscous and is not yet completely mixed, despite the bottles being shaken vigorously again and again. I'm hoping for the best, but for now I'm just guessing. I will check them.

Love this patina paired with Swellable Metal Finishes. Above all, this set is fun to play with. I attached the test pattern to a strip of copper tape. I used a piece of aluminum foil to separate each piece, thinking it would hold moisture, and I could see if there was any reaction on the aluminum foil. Two tests in one!
