Battery CAN last a few days with moderate use before depleting. It's terrible. It also doesn't look like the AA or AAA battery most of us have laying around at home. I would have to order batteries weekly if I continued to use it. I threw away the packaging otherwise I would have sent it back. I would like to read the reviews more carefully. Do yourself a favor and choose a different scale. It's useless how quickly the battery dies.

This scale is very light and does the job perfectly. However, I received this product in the mail and the battery died immediately. I decided not to mess with customer service and just ordered a 3 lithium battery pack from Revain for about $5. For this reason I would recommend ordering a set of lithium batteries, you will need them in the future even if you are lucky and not in the same predicament as me. This scale seemed great right away and the packaging and looks are very nice. However, I didn't use it for very long as the scale tended to shake when zeroing/taring or changing units. The buttons don't "press" like I'm used to (my old scale was max 2kg and $5 used and it worked like a dream). The size of the scale is small and portable but decent, it offers a comfortable measuring surface, and the surface is not smooth, it is still easy to clean as stated. The scale had the same reading compared to the competitor's scales, so they are well calibrated.
