Garbage! - Radiators

Although I did not purchase this radiator from Revain I did purchase it directly from Griffin. I paid $700 for a couple of beer cans. Has served 2 years 2 months but has only driven 2300km and is now leaking epoxy. Griffin won't do anything for me. I will never buy anything from Griffin again. I've always believed that you get what you pay for, not that crushed stack of beer cans. DO NOT BUY!

Pros
  • High capacity billet filler above flowtube
Cons
  • Drill pack

Absolute junk, don't buy it!

I've had my XJ for 16 years and had to throw away some heatsinks. I bought this radiator now 2 years and 3 months ago. The core is glued to the tanks and is now cast with epoxy. Cools great with the 4.6 stroker, never had a heat issue until it started leaking 2 weeks ago. The Griffins warranty is only valid for two years from the date of purchase. The local radiator shop will not touch this because of the epoxy on the tanks, the source of the leak. Save your money and don't buy this.

Pros
  • Fan shroud space
Cons
  • Some trouble

Jeep JX Griffin Radiator

I have a 4.6 liter XJ with approx 260hp. I have tried the following to cure overheating: 1) Ford Taurus 4500 cfm cooling fan 2) Hood vents 280Z style 3) radiator water pump 4) water in coolant wetting agent 5) high flow thermostat housing 6) balanced thermostat Most of these changes gave me mediocre results or didn't help or only helped under certain operating conditions The Griffon heater cured my overheating in all conditions I should have made this mod before I made other cooling mods.

Pros
  • 2 Rows 1.25" Pipes
Cons
  • Intervals

Okay but don't break the factory transmission lines

I thought the other reviewer was lying when they said the transmission lines don't make a connection. The transmission cooler has a small internal thread 1/4 NPT (flow restriction hole), factory thread 5/8 (nearly exact) with reverse flair. The only way is to hack the factory lines and terminals. Too much work. Physically it fits into the factory, but instead of two hours of work it's more like two days. I'm sending mine back. Very disappointed with Griffin's R&D department. It would be much…

Pros
  • Transmission cooler
Cons
  • No automatic
